This qualification is passed through a formation with a Type-Rating Instructor on your type. This formation has to be done with an instantaneous mean of communication. If you want to, you can ask to your TRI a back seat on his next flight to a concerned destination.
2.2. ETOPS (LONG HAUL ONLY)
This qualification is passed through a formation with a Type-Rating Instructor on your type. This formation has to be done with an instantaneous mean of communication. If you want to, you can ask to your TRI a back seat on his next flight to a concerned destination.
2.3. POLAR NAVIGATION
This qualification is passed through a formation with a Type-Rating Instructor on your type. This formation has to be done with an instantaneous mean of communication. If you want to, you can ask to your TRI a back seat on his next flight to a concerned destination.
2.4. BOEING 737 DIFFERENTIAL TRAINING
First, to follow this differential training, you must be at least Captain B737 graded (either Classic or Next Generation).
Second, this formation is self-financed, the price is 1.850€.
Other information will follow…
3. DOCUMENTATION
3.1. PREPARATION OF A ROUTING FLIGHT
1) Check the company NOTAM’s if anything new from your last flight 2) Book your flight on the company page on “Pilot Actions -> Book a flight” 3) Note fuel required and the company route 4) Check the weather on https://www.windyty.com/50.645/5.573?49.836,4.955,7 5) If not satisfied with the weather lying on your route, go on
http://onlineflightplanner.org/ and adapt your path
3.2. BASIC FLYING KNOWLEDGE
3.2.1. AERODROME CIRCUIT
Here is the standard procedure to use to make Touch & Go’s at an airfield.
3.2.2. CLIMB
Here is an example of the climb profile with a Jet Aircraft (B757). First you maintain IAS constant, then your Mach Number constant. The change occurs at about 29000 feet (depends on the conditions of the day) and is called the “Cross Over Altitude”.
The idea is:
Thrust setting: MAX CONTINUOUS
Pitch: Adjust to find the correct speed
3.2.3. DESCENT
The most economic descent is:
Thrust setting: IDLE
Pitch: Adjust to arrive at the Initial Approach Fix of your STAR at right altitude and speed.
To minimize the time of descent, first you should maintain your cruise Mach Number constant and when you attain approximately 320 kts IAS, you change over IAS constant. If you are too high, maximize drag and accelerate. If you are too low, minimize drag and decelerate but not below your minimum drag speed (see for each aircraft type).
A good rule of thumb to know from when you should start your descent is:
Ex : FL370 -> Top of Descent at 111 NM from your destination.
