321La Ville de Brest (France), capitale des sciences et des technologies de
la mer, accueille également le Centre d’examen « AFNOR Compétence /
Protection cathodique - Secteur Mer ». Ce dernier est construit sur le site
d’IFREMER (Institut Français de Recherche pour l’Exploitation de la Mer)
situé à Brest Plouzané.
Constitution du Centre d’examenLe Centre d’examen de Brest est le seul centre de ce type existant en Europe
et, un des rares qui soit opérationnel dans le monde.
Le Centre de formation est situé dans les locaux de l’Institut
de la Corrosion, à Brest, à moins de 1 km du Centre d’examen
dont il bénéficie des installations.
Objectifs du Centre de FormationL’Institut de la Corrosion dispense une formation théorique et pratique dans
le domaine de la Protection cathodique des structures métalliques expo-
sées au milieu marin. Les cours sont donnés en langue française ou en langue
anglaise.

Avec un Centre de formation et un Centre d’examen spécifiques à la certifi-
cation de la compétence en Protection cathodique pour les ouvrages exposés
à la mer, la France est le seul pays européen disposant de moyens fonction-
nels permettant de délivrer des certificats « AFNOR Compétence / Protection
cathodique - Secteur Mer ». « AFNOR Compétence », une marque de qualité
reconnue et appréciée dans le monde.
Contenu pédagogique des coursLa formation répond aux spécifications des normes européennes de réfé-
rence ainsi qu’aux programmes et aux questions d’examen figurant dans le
« Recueil d’examen » publié par le CEFRACOR/CFPC. Ce document,conseillé
à tout candidat à la certification en Protection cathodique, est vendu par
le CFPC.
La formation comporte une préparation aux examens « AFNOR Compétence /
Protection cathodique - Secteur Mer » Niveaux 1 et 2.
L’enseignement comprend une formation dite de « tronc commun »
(généralités sur la corrosion et sur la Protection cathodique), une formation
spécifique orientée « mer » et une formation pratique sur le site d’examen
d’IFREMER.

réparti sur 2 jours. Les dates des sessions,

Il permet, sous le contrôle du CEFRACOR/CFPC, la délivrance de certificats
« AFNOR Compétence/Protection cathodique - Secteur Mer » selon les cri-
tères définis dans la norme européenne EN 15 257.
Le Centre d’examen est installé en bord de mer. Il comprend :
• Une salle d’examen pour le passage des épreuves théoriques.
• Un laboratoire de mesures et d’essais disposant de deux postes de travail.
• Trois cuves instrumentées alimentées en eau de mer.
• Une structure industrielle instrumentée, du type noeud de plateforme
pétrolière.
• Un appontement en gabions métalliques instrumentés exposés à la mer.
• Un bureau pour les examinateurs, une salle d’accueil et de préparation.

The Training Center is located in the buildings of Institut de la
Corrosion, in Brest, less than 1 km far from the Examination Center, whose
equipments can profitably be used.

field of Cathodic protection of metal structures exposed to marine environ-
ment. The courses are given in French or English language.

teaching contents of the coursesThe training meets the specifications of the reference European stan-
dards and the examination programs and questions included in the
« Examination Manual » published by the CEFRACOR/CFPC. This document,
essential for any candidate to certification in Cathodic protection, is sold
by CFPC.
The training deals with preparing to the examinations
« AFNOR Competence / Cathodic protection - Sector Sea » Levels 1 and 2.
Teaching includes a training called Common Base (general information on
corrosion and on Cathodic protection), a specific training about sea environ-
ment and a practical training on the IFREMER examination site.
duration of the training course
8 days of 7 continuous hours followed by 2 days of examination. The dates of
sessions, the detailed program and the cost of the training courses are sent
after request to Institut de la Corrosion.

• A wharf in steel gabions exposed to sea, also instrumented
• An office for the examinations, and reception lounge and preparation.
