A church in the Word, under the cross, ministering to the world.
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me
to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim
the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;” Isaiah 61: 1-2
Redeemer’s Foreign and Domestic Mission Ministry
The Church of the Redeemer Baptist Mission Team, under God’s enabling and guidance, seeks
to carry out the following mandate:
“The purpose of The Church of the Redeemer Baptist Mission Ministry is to mobile the
people and resources of Redeemer’s community of believers into a God-centered service of
compassionate evangelism, discipleship and mutual caring for one another with the focus
being towards the unsaved and unreachable”.
Our vision is to develop a global mission awareness on our congregation through a
process of education, so that they can aid in spreading the Gospel of Christ. We will function as
a missionary outreach for the unsaved to bring them to the saving knowledge of our Risen
Savior, Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide faith –based assistance and restoration to the whole
man that was commanded by Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8

PSALM 98:1-9
1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his
right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly
shewed in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all
the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and
rejoice, and sing praise.
5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD,
the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell
therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall
he judge the world, and the people with equity.

Realities of Hunger
Due to the struggling economy and increase in fuel and food prices more people are
turning to food cupboards and pantries for help. As a result, Philabundance is
providing more food to people, especially the working poor who have to choose
between rent and food.
Unfortunately, Philabundance and food banks across the county are experiencing a
serious shortage of food due to a number of factors including:
The USDA buys surplus food that U.S. farmers can’t sell, and sends it to regional food
banks, which supply local food pantries and shelters. In 2004, supplies to food banks
from the surplus program totaled $223 million. In 2006, was just $67 million (down
70%), said the USDA. Farm prices have been so stable, especially as farmers sell
American crops overseas, that the government has been buying less surplus. As a
result, there is much less food available for food banks.
Retails stores are more precise about inventory, which means there is less excess
product to donate.
TThe discount stores provide new outlets for manufacturers to send surplus food.
PA state budget cut of the State Food Purchase Program.
About Us
Philabundance is the region’s largest hunger relief organization. Approximately 27% of the food produced in the U.S. goes to waste each year while millions of people go
hungry. Philabundance works to change this contradiction. In 2008, we distributed 17 million pounds in the Delaware Valley.
We serve low income residents at risk of hunger and malnutrition, of which 23% are children and 16% are senior citizens. We provide food through a network of agencies in
the Delaware Valley. Our member agencies include food cupboards, shelter or residential programs, social service agencies, emergency kitchens, and neighborhood
distribution programs who reach people in need.
Mission
Philabundance works to end hunger and malnutrition in the Delaware Valley by acquiring food and distributing it through organizations serving people in need.
History
Philabundance was founded as a nonprofit food distribution system in 1984, to reduce food waste and fight hunger in the Delaware Valley. In 2005, Philabundance
integrated with the Philadelphia Food Bank to become the region's largest nonprofit hunger relief organization. Today, Philabundance offers a full plate of services to
Delaware Valley residents at risk of chronic hunger and malnutrition.
