Le NNT est :
le nombre de sujets à traiter durant une période déterminée pour éviter la survenue d’un évènement.
Deux cas
Premier cas simple:
l’étude a un résultat binaire et tous les sujets sont suivis pendant la même durée
Tc: le taux d’évènements survenu dans le groupe contrôle
Te: le taux d’évènements survenu dans le groupe expérimental
NNT= 1/ Tc-Te
Deuxième cas plus complexe:
l’étude a pour critère d’étude le délai de survenue d’un évènement
