Historicisme, 1898

L’architecte Gustav Gull s’est inspiré de l’historicisme pour édifier le Musée national, son objectif étant de faire revivre les styles du passé. Les nouvelles techniques industrielles développées au XIXe siècle permettaient de reconstituer aisément les di érentes formes historiques et de les combiner pour aboutir à une pluralité de styles. La façade devait raconter l’histoire de l’architecture et laisser transparaître la structure intérieure du bâtiment.
