“Jean-Vier” : ce terme n’évoque peut-être pour vous qu’un mois dans l’année…Or, pour une personne origi-naire du Pays Basque, ce nom évoque toute l’histoire du Linge Basque, et des traditions familiales qui y sont liées.

Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle est le lieu où sont confec-tionnées les nappes Jean-Vier. Au centre de l’atelier de confection se perçoit la douce odeur du lin, la rugosité de son aspect, ainsi qu’un large éventail de tons vifs et colorés exposés sur diverses nappes.

Jean-Vier fait revivre, saison après saison, l’esprit du linge traditionnel basque, tout en proposant des col-lections de linge de maison très contemporaines.

L’histoire de l’entreprise est intimement liée à celle d’une région et de sa culture. Implantée au cœur du Pays Basque, la marque Jean-Vier renoue avec la fabrication de tissus traditionnels. Des toiles de lin qui ont accompagné les basques depuis l’origine des temps.

Né du lin que cultivaient les paysans, le linge basque trouve son origine dans la mante à bœuf, une toile dont on couvrait les bêtes pour les protéger des effets du soleil. Il s’agissait de grands rectangles de lin brodés de sept rayures bleues, vertes ou rouge, symbole des sept provinces basques.

Depuis plusieurs saisons maintenant, Jean-Vier dé-veloppe une gamme complète de linge de bain : Draps de plage, draps de bain, serviettes de bain… dont les noms évoquent les plages du littoral basque. Ornées de fleurs de piment et de magnifiques rayures elles enri-chissent l’étendue des produits de qualité diffusés par la marque basque.

Aujourd’hui la maison Jean-Vier, qui associe le savoir-faire traditionnel de ses tisserands à la passion des couleurs et du « beau linge », est une marque reconnue et très appré-ciée sur le marché national et international.

“Jean-Vier”: Quizá esta palabra solamente evoque para Ustedes un mes del año… No obstante, para una per-sona originaria del País Vasco, este nombre evoca toda la historia del “linge” o “ropa de hogar” vasco, y de las tradiciones familiares ligadas a él.

Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle es el lugar donde se confec-cionan los manteles Jean-Vier. En el centro del taller de confección, se percibe el suave olor del lino, la rugosidad de su apariencia, así como un amplio colorido de tonos alegres y vivos expuestos sobre diversos manteles.

Jean-Vier vuelve a reavivar, cada temporada, el es-píritu del “linge” tradicional vasco, a la vez que ofrece colecciones de ropa de hogar muy contemporáneas.

La historia de la empresa está intimamente ligada a su ubicación geográfica. Implantada en el corazón del País Vasco, la marca Jean-Vier reaviva el espíritu de la fabrica-ción de tejidos tradicionales. Telas de lino que han acom-pañado a los vascos desde el comienzo de los tiempos.

Originalmente, estas telas se empleaban como manto para cubrir a los bueyes, con el objetivo de protegerlos del sol, del frío y de los insectos. Eran grandes rectángulos de lino bordados de siete rayas azules, verdes o rojas – siete rayas como símbolo de las siete provincias vascas -, que se fijaban sobre el dorso de los animales.

Jean-Vier ha desarrollado a lo largo de las últimas temporadas una amplia colección de ropa de baño : toallas de playa, toallas de baño, etc., cuyos nombres evo-can las playas de la costa vasca. Decoradas con flores y preciosas rayas, estas colecciones complementan y en-riquecen la extensa variedad de productos de gran cali-dad ofrecida por la marca vasca.

Jean-Vier aúna en todas sus colecciones el tradi-cional saber-hacer de sus tejedores a su pasión por los colores vivos y los tejidos de gran calidad, ofreciendo al público auténticos productos artesanales reconocidos por su altísima calidad y su excelente diseño a nivel interna-cional.

However, for people native of the Basque Country, this single word raises all the history of the traditional Basque linen and the family traditions bound to it.

Saint Pée sur Nivelle is the village where all the Jean-Vier table linen is created and made-up.

In the heart of the workshop, the visitor can smell the sweet scent of the linen, the roughness of its appea-rance, and also a wide range of joyful and luminous co-lors declined through various tablecloths.

Jean-Vier re-intensifies, season after season, the spirit of traditional basque linen, while it offers a wide range of very contemporary and colorful house linen col-lections.

The history of the company is intimately linked to its region and its culture. Established in the heart of the Basque Country, the Jean-Vier brand renews with tradi-tional linen weaving.

Linen cloths have always been part of the Basque lifestyle. Created from the linen grown by local farmers, Basque linen were initially used to protect the cattle from the sun: large rectangular linen clothes embroide-red with seven blue, green or red colored stripes, which were fasten on the animals. The seven stripes were em-broidered as a symbol of the traditional seven Basque Provinces.

Jean-Vier has been developing a wide collection of bath linen since several seasons: beach towels, bath towels, shower towels, etc., whose names evoke basque beaches. Decorated with pepper flowers and beautiful stripes, these collections enrich the extent of the high quality products spread by the basque brand.

Today, Jean-Vier, who associates the traditional know-how of the basque weavers to its passion for co-lours and « beautiful linen », is a very well-known and appreciated brand on both french and international markets.

3 PRINCIPIOS CLAVE que les ayudarán, lavado tras lavado, a mantener el alto nivel de calidad de su ropa de hogar : • Antes de su primera utilización, haga un primer

lavado largo, a máquina, con agua fría y sin detergente.

3 KEY PRINCIPLES which, wash after wash, will allow you to keep your household linen at its high quality level :• Before use, make a first long wash with cold

water and without washing powder.• Try to always use washing powders without

whitening chemical agents in order to keep bright colours.

• Use anti-stain washing products before wash in case of very significant stains.

Washing and care

Desire of absolute white linen• The linen cloths are washable at 40° and the

terry at 60°• The colours on stripes on white backcloth and

the braids on the bathrobes are guaranteed to not suffer any alteration in case of cor-rect washing without addition of whitening washing products.

• We strongly recommend to avoid mixing white and highly coloured linen during the washing and the wringing process.

Desire of softness for your bath linenWe recommend you to adopt the first cold water wash reflex before use: it also helps ensuring a better absorption.

Ironing Guide

All JEAN-VIER fabrics are recommended to be ironed at high temperature; this advise is conve-nient for all natural fibers as the high tempe-rature ironing prevents the water stains on the linen.• If you wish impeccable ironing, try to always

iron your linen when still slightly humid.• Try to choose stain-protected fabrics: it will

help you taking care of your household linen.• Stain-protected fabrics receive a Teflon treat-

ment and offer an exceptional ironing quality.• This new fabric ennobling labeled technology

gives the fabrics an incredibly softness and smooth touch sensation.

• All JEAN-VIER designs are labeled with our ironing advices.

1- Clause GénéraleToute commande passée auprès des CREA-

TIONS JEAN VIER est soumise aux présentes conditions générales de ventes, qui prévalent sur les conditions figurant sur les documents de l’acheteur, sauf dérogation écrite de notre part.

2- CommandeLes commandes qui nous sont adressées direc-

tement ou par l’intermédiaire de nos représen-tants n’engagent notre société qu’après confir-mation écrite de notre part. Toute commande entraîne acceptation sans réserve de la part de l’acheteur des présentes conditions.

3- LivraisonsNos délais de livraison ne sont donnés qu’à

titre indicatif. L’acheteur ne pourra se prévaloir d’un retard pour annuler la vente, refuser la mar-chandise, ou réclamer une indemnité.

4- Transport/Transfert de risqueToutes nos marchandises livrées voyagent

toujours aux risques et périls de l’acheteur et ce quelles que soient les conditions de vente et le mode de transport. Les risques de la marchandise sont transférés à l’acheteur dès la sortie de notre atelier.

En cas d’avarie ou de perte, il appartient à l’acheteur seul de sauvegarder ses droits vis-à-vis du transporteur en formulant ses réserves.

5- Prix et modalités de paiementToute première commande est payable

d’avance à réception de la confirmation de notre part.

Dans le cas de commande spéciale il pourra être demandé un acompte à l’acheteur.

Si la situation économique et financière de l’acheteur suscite des inquiétudes justifiées, nous nous réservons le droit de modifier les conditions de paiement pour les commandes en cours en exigeant des garanties ou un paiement comptant avant livraison.

6- Réserve de propriétéNonobstant toute clause contraire, la marchan-

dise vendue reste notre propriété jusqu’à encais-sement complet du prix et de ses accessoires. Il est notamment interdit à l’acheteur d’en disposer en dehors de son activité normale pour la revente ou les transformer.

En cas de saisie opérée par des tiers sur ses marchandises, l’acheteur est tenu d’en informer immédiatement le vendeur. Les acomptes versés seront conservés à titre de dommages et intérêts.

En cas de non-paiement du prix, l’acheteur se doit de restituer à ses frais la marchandise vendue.

A défaut de restitution immédiate, il suffira d’une ordonnance sur requête du Président du Tri-bunal de Commerce pour obtenir cette restitution.

7- Retour de marchandiseSauf entente préalable écrite avec les CREA-

TIONS JEAN VIER, tout retour sera refusé au-delà de 8 jours suivant la date de livraison et avant ou passé ce délai si les produits sont rendus hors de leur emballage d’origine et transformé par le des-tinataire (étiquettes coupées…).

Si le retour est convenu entre le vendeur et l’acheteur, les frais de transports sont à la charge de l’acheteur.

2- OrderOrders addressed directly to us or trans-

mitted by one of our representatives are considered binding only upon our written confirmation. All orders imply full acceptance by the Buyer of these conditions.

3- DeliveriesDelivery times are given only as a guide-

line. Delayed delivery may not be claimed as a reason to cancel a sale, reject the goods or claim compensation.

4- Shipment/Transfer of risksOn dispatching our goods, the risk of pe-

rishing, loss and damage of the products sold has passed ex work to the Buyer, regardless of the conditions of sale and the method of transport. In case of damaged or lost ship-ments, it is the sole responsibility of the Buyer to defend his rights and take all measures for due notification.

5- prices and terms of paymentAll first orders are payable in advance on

receipt of our written confirmation.In the case of a special order, the buyer

may be requested to make a payment on account.

Should the Buyer’s economic and finan-cial situation be cause for justified concern, we reserve the right to perform subsequent deliveries only against cash guarantees or advance payment.

6- Retention of titleNotwithstanding any clause to the contra-

ry, the goods sold remains our property until full payment of all claims arising from the transaction. Buyer is specifically forbidden from using the goods outside of any normal activity.

In the event that the goods is seized by third parties, the Buyer is to inform the Seller immediately. Payments made to account will be kept as payment of damages and interest.

In case of non-payment, the Buyer must return at his own expense all merchandise. Should be fail to return it immediately, he will be served an injunction from the Presiding Judge of the Commercial Tribunal to obtain its return.

7- Return of goodsExcept where there is prior written agree-

ment with the limited company CREATION JEAN VIER, no return will be accepted beyond eight days following the delivery date, and be-fore or beyond this period should the products be returned without their original packaging or altered by the consignee.

If the return is agreed upon between the Seller and the <byer, shipment costs are to be borne by the Byuer.

intermediación de nuestros representantes, no comprometen a la sociedad CREATIONS JEAN-VIER hasta confirmación escrita emitida por su parte. Todo pedido conlleva la acepta-ción sin reserva de los presentes términos y condiciones por parte del comprador.

3- EntregasNuestros plazos de entrega serán comunicados a título

informativo e indicativo. El comprador no podrá hacer preva-lecer un retraso en la entrega para anular la venta, rechazar la mercancía, o reclamar una indemnización.

4- Transporte/Transferencia de riesgoTodas nuestras mercancías expedidas viajan siempre por

cuenta y riesgo del comprador, independientemente de las condiciones de venta y del modo de transporte elegido por el cliente. Los riesgos que pueda correr la mercancía son trans-feridos al cliente desde el momento en que la mercancía sale de nuestro almacén. En casos de rotura o pérdida durante el transporte, es obligación única y exclusiva del comprador el salvaguardar sus derechos frente al transportista formu-lando las oportunas reservas en el momento de recibir la mercancía.

5- Tarifas y modalidades de pagoTodo primer pedido será pagadero previa expedición de

la mercancía, en el momento de confirmación del pedido por parte del cliente. Las condiciones y modalidades de pago podrán evolucionar a la vez que la relación comercial entre el proveedor y el cliente. En el caso de pedidos especiales de ar-tículos a fabricar a medida, CREATIONS JEAN-VIER podrá so-licitar un anticipo previa confirmación del pedido al cliente.

Si la situación económica y financiera del comprador susci-tara inquietudes justificadas, CREATIONS JEAN-VIER se reser-va el derecho a modificar las condiciones de pago acordadas para los pedidos en curso, pudiendo exigir al cliente garantías de pago o pagos al contado previa entrega de la mercancía.

6- Reservas de propiedadSalvo cláusula específica contraria, la mercancía vendida

será propiedad de CREATIONS JEAN-VIER hasta cobro ínte-gro y total del importe acordado. El comprador no está por tanto autorizado a disponer de ella fuera de su actividad nor-mal para su reventa o transformación.

En caso de que la mercancía fuera objeto de embargo por parte de terceros, el comprador debería informar inmedia-tamente al vendedor del hecho. Los anticipos abonados por el comprador serían conservados por el vendedor a modo de compensación de daños y perjuicios.

En caso de impago del importe acordado, el comprador debe-rá restituir la mercancía al vendedor y hacerse cargo de los gastos derivados de esta devolución.

En caso de no proceder a la devolución de la mercancía de inmediato, será suficiente la presentación de una ordenanza del Presidente del Tribunal de Comercio para obtener dicha devolución.

7- Devoluciones de mercancíaSalvo previo acuerdo específico emitido por escrito por la

sociedad CREATIONS JEAN-VIER, toda devolución será recha-zada una vez transcurridos 8 días desde la fecha de entrega de la mercancía, y en cualquier caso – antes o después del pla-zo definido – si los productos son devueltos sin su embalaje de origen y/o con modificaciones realizadas por el destinatario sobre ellos (etiquetas cortadas, etc.).

Si la devolución se deriva de un acuerdo entre el vendedor y el comprador, los gastos de transporte serán a cargo del comprador.
