BRIEF PROFILE OF JKC IN KHAMMAM DISTRICT

Jawahar knowledge center was established in SR&BGNR Government Degree College,

Khammam January,2006 with a view to enhance the employment potentials of the undergraduate

students by imparting communication skills, soft skills, analytical and technical skills to provide

placement opportunities in various MNCs. The JKC committee was constituted with Dr. Bose,

Principal as the chairman, Dr. S.Rama Mohan Rao, Asst. Professor in Botany as Coordinator,

Smt.D.Rathangiri Usha(English), Dr.K.madhava Rao (Economics), Sri.Komarelli (Commerce),

Mr.Khan(Library science) as members.

Establishment of JKC brought new life for collegiate education in the district. .Khammam district

is known for its tribal population. More over underprivileged section students are more in the

district. Naturally these students gained confidence with placement at their doorsteps.

Another JKC was established in April,2007 at GDC, Bhadrachalam, The temple town and center

for biggest agency area in the state. It became a ray for undergraduate tribal youth.

With the overwhelming response to JKCs in the district, and consistent and inspiring

support from CCE, Four more JKCs(JKCECs) were established in November 2007 at

GDC(W),Khammam, GDC,Yellandu, SRAS GDC,Kothagudem& SCW College,Kothagudem. In

2008-09 , 947 students were trained in these JKCs and 219 students were placed in MNCs.

Currently 205 students are undergoing training in the district.

Khammam JKC using latest developments, and started one Blog and email ID

([email protected]) to keep in regular touch with current and old trainees.
