Famously called the ‘Canton Fair’, the event is organized by China Foreign Trade Centre (Group), and takes place from October 15 to November 4 at the China Import and Export Fair Paz- hou Complex. The invitation for the 116t h edition of the fair come s two-a nd-h alf months ahead of the Vib rant Gujar at summit to be held in January next year. “The invitation has come at a short notice but the for eign ministr ies of both I ndia and China will ease visa proce- dures. This is also a significant opportunity for our delega- tion,” said a senior urban de- velopment department offi- cial. The event is the largest trade fair in China. It is famous as the fair where the largest as- sortme nt of product s are dis- played, and which has the largest attendance. Further, it is also known as the venue in China where the largest num- ber of business dea ls is inked. Adelegation of Guangz hou city officials held a closed-door meeting with Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel on Thursday. Also present at the meeting were Ahmedabad mu- nicipal corporation (AMC) mayor Meenakshi Patel along with high-level secretaries of the Gujarat-government. On the same lines, an MOU was signed between the cities of Guangz hou an d Ahmeda- bad for closer cooperation be- tween local authorities. planned to take the card to Vad-nagar and celebrate Modi’s hisbirthday at his school there.

However, the plans changedas Modi tweeted that he wouldnot celebrate his birthday andurged supporters to donate forKashmir. “The card for Modi is 14.30mwide and 16.20m long. We willwrite a brief on this event andsend it to The Guinness Book Of World Records in the UK for ap-

proval,” said Rakesh Brahmb-hatt, the official witness of theevent.
