Sweet, Sweet Fellowship
Last Sunday was a day full of activities, worship, meetings and fellowship. One
of the great things about our church family is the desire we have to meet together and
enjoy each others company. Last Sunday after the morning assembly Care Groups 4 and
7 led by Mike McGill and Ryan Cobb met together for a great time of food and fellow-
ship. A number close to 200 met for this meal and everyone had a great time.
Elders, Deacons and Ministers Meetings
Recently on a Saturday morning we met for one of our regular meetings and the
main topic of discussion was about the sell of this facility and moving to our property on
Deerfoot Parkway. It was an exciting meeting as we discussed the ongoing work here
and the transition that will take place when the relocation occurs. One thing we dis-
cussed was the need to pray on a regular basis for God to send a buyer for our current
property. It has been said that we are on God’s time when it comes to selling this facility
and moving to Deerfoot. That being the case, let us ask God to help us with the sell of
this facility as we pray for his will to be accomplished! Let me also encourage those
who lead public prayers to remember this item in the prayers led in our assembly.
Spreading the Gospel Via the Internet
The Internet is one of the most powerful tools to spread the Gospel. Each week
our pulpit lessons are uploaded to YouTube and anybody in the world who is on the web
can download and watch. Let me encourage you to recommend our site to those you’d
like to hear the lessons that are presented here at Roebuck Parkway. All of these lessons
can be located at www.youtube.com/thegospelspeaks. Also, from this site you can share
these lessons with your friends on Facebook and those who follow you on Twitter.
A Busy Summer Ahead
We look forward to a busy summer of ministry. We also are glad to welcome our
summer interns: Alex Coggins, Nic Moon and Melanie Seibert.

Sometimes it seems hard to continue the struggle of the Christian life when we see the way this world is going. At times it seems that the world is winning in the battle for men’s souls. Because of that many will never become Christians and many who are Christians become discouraged and give up. Many battles may be lost before the war is won. So it was in World War Two and so it will be in the life of the Christian.
Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States said, “I would rather lose in a cause that will some day win, than win in a cause that will some day lose.” In chapter 13 of the book of Revelation we read of the great beast that came up out of the sea and “it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to over come them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and na-tions” (Rev. 13:7). The picture looks bleak at that point but what helps the Christians to persevere is to remember that the book of Revelation does not end with chapter 13. In fact in the very next chapter of that great book one finds this encourage-ment. “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus” (Rev. 14:12. NIV). When one understands that eventually the Christian cause will win and the world will lose, it changes the whole out-look we have on life and what is happening. The Christian needs to maintain a “patient endurance”. Just previous to this statement, John had written, “And the smoke of their tor-ment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for any-one who receives the mark of his name” (Rev. 14:11). We need to realize the cause of the world will lose and those fol-lowing that way will suffer torment forever and ever, while the Christian will be victorious and will enjoy the comfort and joy of heaven for ever and ever. In the very next verse John tells us, “Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them’” (Rev. 14:13). The cause of God and His Christ will eventually win and His followers will be blessed, and they will have rest forever. Therefore, let us all maintain our determination to persevere through all that Satan and this world can heap upon us until the end when the faithful will be rewarded with an eternity of blessedness with God and His Son Jesus.
