‘Ms Beautiful Eyes’, anothermini title of Ms.Lanka 2007 tookplace recently. Along with that thecontestants had a fun morning of‘tips and toes’, nail art sessions atthe Technique InternationalSchool of Hairdressing and Beau-ty Therapy at Rosmead Place,Colombo 7.

It provided the contestants andthe make up artist team whichcomprised past and present stu-dents of Technique Internationalan opportunity to get wellacquainted with each other. Ouraim was to build up the confi-dence of the contestants preview-ing their ability to handle all thefiner points of the hair and beautytrade.

Kasun Amerasinghe, the pho-tographer for the pageant andSunday Observer, the officialmedia sponsor, spent the after-noon taking photographs for the‘Ms. Beautiful Eyes’ title afterwhich ‘Exotic Eye’ make up wasdone for each contestant.

Interestingly it is worth notingthat some of these TechniqueInternational students are quali-fied World Federation of Hair-dressing and Beauty Schools UK,others have qualified at the Cityand Guild while all are workingtowards the NSQ Level 4 SriLanka.

This day was one in which theprojects for the make up module,with ‘Designer Nails’ and ‘ExoticEyes’ was held.

Voting for the Most PopularContestant is still going on. Wehave the State PharmaceuticalCorporation continuing as joint

sponsor and MAX TV and V FM asElectronic and Radio sponsors.

Ms. Beautiful Smile and Ms.Photogenic will be held onNovember 4.

Making every effort to makeeach event a success, the GeneralManager of Palm Beach Hotel, Mr.Lanil Jayawardene together withGwendoline Kuhatheva, organiserof Ms. Lanka 2007 have plannedan exciting day out on December8. The program will start with a‘Diyaredda Parade’ and ‘KalagediDance’ around the pool for the‘Ms. Crowing Glory’ title. Thiswill be followed by the selection ofthe ‘Palm Beach Queen’ by a spe-cial panel of judges. The clotheswill be designed by the contestantsthemselves and the title ‘Ms.Designer’ will be voted for by thecontestants and the make up artistteam.

Lunch will be Lamprais on thebeach followed by a cricket matchand a Baila session.

‘Ms. Lanka 2007’ will raisefunds for the new OphthalmicUnit of the Lady Ridgeway Hospi-tal for urgently required equip-ment.
