The program for 2017 is packed with 16 Gold Seal accredited courses delivered by our professional educators and industry practitioners and furthers ORBA’s goal of offering members the highest quality education available.

As in previous years, the 2017 Road Building Academy offers variety in both content and delivery format. Attendance at classroom courses facilitates direct peer-to-peer learning and networking.

With our amalgamation, we have incorporated courses suitable to all our membership categories, including Contractors, Hot Mix Producers, AC Suppliers and Associate Members.

Why is this important?Whether you are an employer or an employee, continuous professional development allows you to raise the bar, demonstrate your commitment to excellence and get ahead of the competition.

As always, we cannot do what we do without the dedication and support from our education committee. I’d like to thank our education committee member volunteers for their time and support in helping us deliver a program that will support your businesses.

What is new this year? ORBA conducted a member Focus Group to help us identify the best types of courses to offer as new components to the Academy. Not only have we expanded our course offerings, we have upgraded our venue to the prestigious BMO Institute for Learning which includes state of the art classrooms, food hubs and a buffet lunch to suit every palate.

We will also be launching the compulsory Construction Ethics course through Buildforce as our first online course offering.

We encourage members to take advantage of the Canada Ontario Job Grant where companies can claim back for training their staff. Visit orba.org/academy/canada-ontario-job-grant-program for further details. We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 Road Building Academy.
