The Werksviertel in Munich has a size of390.290m2, 7.000m2 as working area
The area has a long tradition: Manufacturers like Pfanni, Zündapp, Konen
& Optimol have been producing hereThe idea startet in 1999: create an innovative & pulsatile urban district,
conveniently situated near the Ostbahnhof
The ground makes way for living, working, shopping & leisure activities

The Digital Twin(s)The whitepaper
© SFaaS Munich (MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH – KUKA AG – Munich Reinsurance Company)
….Digital twins are a near-real-time digital image of a physical object or process that will help business performance. Digital twins are born through the synthesization of a number of sources, such as operational, physical, and manufacturing data and insights from analytics….
…The process of manufacturing could perhaps benefit from digital twins the most. The digital twin could become a replica of real-time process of the factory floor….

Coming from a segmented world where CAD, PDM and Digital Factory tools were separate products, sometimes even running on separate environments, the PLM community was forming the term of the “Digital Twin” a few years ago. This aimed at integrated data and process model to support new approaches like “Closed Loop Manufacturing”.
Now MHP, together with KUKA and Munich RE, is looking into new capabilities to utilize the “Digital Twins” with the aim to create a “Smart Factory as a Service”.
We will share the insights of taking digital production labs on to the next level and use it to develop radical new approaches in how to run the factory of the future.
