Concept 1.Arrival-The Entrance
To augment the entrance design with the use of colour, light and materials
that will create a dramatic threshold, promote a sense of arrival , a sense of
having stepped onto a stage and an entrance that is unique for Witton Park.

To introduce an external spotlight that creates an intense patch of light on
the ground during hours of darkness
A strong spot lit area outside the entrance will add to the experience of crossing

Concept 2-Platform
A multi functional sculptural spine that elevates both work and play
activities in the daily life of the school.
The spine is created from formed corian in assembled sections.
It incorporates lighting and coloured accents.

A living and changing animated graphic image that corresponds toinformation collected about the daily life of the school.
The image is manifested on a variety of screens and projections
throughout the school.

they find interesting to collate and present.
To develop graphic image in response to the information being collected and

Concept 4-Announcement Contemporary
Signboard
A contemporary signboard, located at the threshold of the school that can easily
accommodate regular change and is back lit .
Text would be provided with a set of changeable letters.
The signboard is backlit and could incorporate changeable lighting
The school can use the signboards as a means of promoting curiosity and
thoughtful communication as well as a opportunity for factual information.
This project is a proposal for a developed project that can be based in the
community and the school, as key interface between the two bodies and our
opportunity to with both and to leave a legacy that will do the same.

Announcement Contemporary Billboard-Further
Development
Detailed design development to incorporate condensation and wind loadingconsiderations.
Font, colour and material investigations to create alternative letter sets.
Lighting investigation and testing to ensure that the letters look strong on a backlitbase and to consider the incorporation of coloured changeable lighting at nigh
time.
Workshops within the community and the school to develop a rationale for the
development of appropriate text pieces for the signboard and a manual of
ownership.
