    The ES and ESV V-packing sets are available in 3different versions:

    Type A has 3 to 5 fabric intermediate ringscan can be installed in adjustable ornon-adjustable seal housings.

    Type B has 3 to 5 fabric intermediate rings,one rubber-sprung support ring andare installed in non-adjustable sealhousings. Constant axial pre-tensions.

    Type C has 2 - 4 fabric intermediate rings,one rubber intermediate ring and canbe installed in adjustable or non-adjustable seal housings. The rubberintermediate ring provides additionalsealing effect.

    Type A and Type B can be supplied as endlessor open (cut) rings. Type C is always suppliedas endless rings.

    The length of the lead-in chamfer “C” is criticalto successfully installing the seal withoutdamaging it in the process. The value for “C”is given for each seal on the following pagesand it is a function of the profile of the seal(dimension “B”).

    The maximum allowable clearance gap is afunction of the system pressure and the profile(dimension “B”) of the seal. It should bedetermined using the highest operatingpressure the system will see. The value fordiameter D1 can be determined as follows:
