Brian Smargiassi: Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle
All through his life in Canada, Brian Smargiassi has always followed a healthy lifestyle. Having competed in several Strong Man competitions, Brian knows firsthand the benefits a healthy lifestyle has on one’s physical and mental wellbeing. He also acknowledges that everyone should adopt fitness and exercise, which he believes contributes to overall good health.
Brian Smargiassi - The Life of a Lumberjack
When Brian Smargiassi was sixteen years old, he often accompanied his father to work at a forest reservation in Ontario. It was here that Brian learned much of what he knows about trees and foliage, and would later develop a deep love for nature. Brian says there was nothing quite like the smell of freshly cut pine, or the sounds of saws buzzing. Later in life, he would work as a lumberjack at a local lumber mill.
Brian Smargiassi - Appreciating His Family
Born to Samantha and Jeremy Smargiassi in western Ontario, Brian Smargiassi has always appreciated the role his parents have played in his life. His mom was a schoolteacher at a local high school, where she taught a wide range of subjects but loved literature and art. She had a soft spot for Brian, and often showed tender care to him. Jeremy Smargiassi, though he cared for Brian too, was a little tough. He could be stern sometimes, Brian says. However, his tough love helped mold Brian into the motivated, go-getting young man he is today.

Since childhood, Brian Smargiassi has always had a deep fascination with nature and Canada’a outdoors. It’s a trait he inherited from his father who has worked as a ranger on a forest reserve for more than 25 years. As a child, his father often took Brian on trips to the Canadian reserve, where the younger Smargiassi learned about the different types of trees, rivers and natural foliage. This knowledge was helpful in later years, specifically college, when Brian discovered a passion for landscape painting.
