LE SENTIER CATHARE HOMOLOGUÉ GR®Depuis le 13 février 2014, le Sentier Cathare est homologué sentier de Grande Randonnée (GR®) par la Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre (FFRP). Il bénéficie désormais d’une reconnaissance nationale et internationale et rentre dans la grande famille des itinéraires mythiques français que sont le GR® 20, le Chemin de Stevenson (GR® 70) ou bien encore les Chemins de St Jacques de Compostelle.Il chemine de la Méditerranée aux Pyrénées. Sur près de 200 km, il offre une grande variété de paysages : lagunes littorales, coteaux viticoles, garrigues, forêts, gorges et sommets pyrénéens…Aguilar, Padern, Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Puilaurens, Puivert, Montségur, citadelles du vertige érigées sur d’impressionnants pitons rocheux jalonnent l’itinéraire et évoquent une page de l’histoire médiévale méridionale, le catharisme languedocien.
