‘Walk The Moon’

• I like this vinyl art because of the ‘eroded’ effect on the image and text, this gives a vintage feel to the vinyl.

• The 2 solid colors that have been used, black and white, are very bold and work well together. This also creates a simple, but effective effect to the vinyl art.

• As this vinyl is very plain, the readers have to therefore read the vinyl sleeve to find out extra information because of the lack of information on the vinyl. I like this because it makes the vinyl straight to the point.

Oasis – ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’

• I think this vinyl is very effective because the sleeve is only one main image of a city, which therefore mans the reader must open the sleeve to view more information on the vinyl.

• The vinyl art is using 2 main colors again, which means that it is not confusing for the reader.

• The text on the vinyl is very informative because it is giving the reader lots of information about the vinyl and the band.

Stone Roses

• The vinyl art on this Stone Roses vinyl can be very confusing because of the ‘messy’ background. The text is an orange color which allows the text to stand out on the multicolored background.

• The bands logo is also used on the vinyl, which is the lemon, this is effective because for some people they only remember this band by the widely used logo, which is the lemon.

The Courteeners – ‘St Jude’

• I think this vinyl is very effective because unlike the stone roses vinyl, it is very straight to the point and has a simplistic design.

• The image and the text are the only 2 things on the vinyl art, which allows the reader to straight away what band this vinyl belongs to and the memorable image on the vinyl.

• The 2 colors black and white are used on this vinyl, which contrast very well and create a modern feel to the vinyl.

The Beatles

• This vinyl cover is the same image that is used on the CD for the Beatles, so therefore the new CD cover was inspired by this vinyl.

• The colors used on this vinyl are again only 2/3 colors, which again just gives a straight to the point feeling to the vinyl art.

• The text and image on this vinyl are the only 2 things on the vinyl, which like the Courteeners vinyl, straight away tells the reader who the vinyl belongs to.

What I need to put onto my design

• Band/artist name• Size of record - 12 inch• recording label logo \ name• record label name• 2 main colors• One main image• Simple design, straight to the point
