THE MAIN ADVANTAGE OF DESIGNING THIS PROJECT WAS IT HAS ACCESS TO TWO MAIN ROADS ON DIFFERENT LEVELS.THE MAIN ROAD FROM THE FRONT AND A SECONDARY ROAD AT THE REAR, A LEVEL HIGHER.

THIS NEARLY TRIANGULAR SMALL LOT PRESENTED ITS OWN UNIQUE SET OF CHALLENGES WITH ITS NARROW CORNERS.THE MAIN CHALLENGE WAS TRYING TO CREATE TWO 3-BEDROOM APARTMENTS ALONG WITH THE NECESSARY PARKINGWITHIN THIS EXTREMELY TIGHT PROPERTY.

THE ONLY FEASIBLE SOLUTION FOR THIS LAND BASED ON THE NATURAL TERRAIN, SLOPE AND BUILDING CODE REGULATIONS,WAS TO CONSTRUCT THE BUILDING UPSIDE DOWN. UPSIDE DOWN AS IN THE MAIN ENTRANCE AND PARKING IS ON TOP,THE RECEPTION AREA IS UNDERNEATH IT AND THE SLEEPING AREA IS UNDERNEATH THAT.

LEBANESE STYLE PRIVATE RESIDENCE. THE SQUARE OR RECTANGLE DESIGN OF THE LEBANESE STYLE HAS ADVANTAGESAND DISADVANTAGES IN ITS INTERIOR SPACE DESIGN.THE SPACE HAS TO BE CAREFULLY DESIGNED IN A WAY TO MAINTAIN SYMMETRY AND FUNCTIONALITY.

MIXED MODERN/LEBANESE STYLE. THE FINAL PRELIMINARY PROJECT CONTAINED 2 DIFFERENT VARIATIONS.VARIATION 1 WAS DESIGNED WITH A RELAXED AND A FLEXIBLE BUDGET, ALLOWING TWO COMPLETE AND FUNCTIONAL FLOORS.VARIATION 2 WAS DESIGNED WITH A VERY TIGHT BUDGET, ONLY ALLOWING 1 FLOOR TO BE BUILT YET STILL LOOKING LIKE A 2 STORY VILLA ON THE EXTERIOR.

RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX WITH 7 BLOCKS AND 3 POOLS. THE CHALLENGE WAS HOW TO INTEGRATE THE 3 PLATFORMS, ON WHICH THE BUILDINGS ARE BUILT UPON, AND FACILITATE PEDES-TRIAN MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROJECT.2 MAIN ENTRANCES ONE ON THE BOTTOM PLATFORM AND ONE ON THE MIDDLE PLATFORM ALLOW RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO ENTER.AN OLYMPIC SIZE POOL AND A SMALLER KID’S POOL ARE LOCATED ON THE MIDDLE PLATFORM.A SMALL CIRCULAR POOL IS LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM LEVEL BETWEEN 3 BLOCKS.THE FURTHEST BLOCK AT THE CORNER OF THE PROJECT HOUSES ALL THE SHOPS AT GROUND LEVEL TO EASILY SUPPLY THE ENTIRE PROJECT.
