L’Egypte a abrité la 10e édition de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations – CAN 2009. L’évènement a eu lieu au Caire sur les courts de « Smash Tennis Academy » qui a organisé cette édition 2009 en conjonction avec la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis enregistrant la participation de 8 pays Africains : Cameroun, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Démocratique, Egypte, Ghana, Libye, Maroc et Tunisie. Dans la compétition par équipes Messieurs, l’équipe Marocaine composée de Reda El Amrani, Rabii Chaki et Yassine Idembarek a remporté le titre pour la 3e année consécutive après avoir pris le dessus sur l’équipe Tunisienne composée par l’excellent Malek Jaziri, Heithem Abid et Ahmed Triki. La rencontre s’est soldée par deux victoires à zéro : Reda El Amrani a battu Malek Jaziri par 62 64 et Rabii Chaki a pris le dessus sur Heithem Abid en 2 sets également 63 et 76. Les équipes Marocaine et Tunisienne ont triomphées en demi-finales respectivement du Ghana et de l’Egypte par 2 victoires à 0. Chez les Dames, l’équipe Tunisienne composée par les jeunes espoirs du Tennis Africain, Ons Jabeur (15 ans), Nour Abbes (16 ans) et Sonia Daggou (16 ans) a triomphé en finale en battant l’équipe Marocaine composée de Fatima Zahra El Alami, Nadia Lalami et Lina Bennani par deux victoires à zéro. Nour Abbes a pris le dessus lors du 1er match sur Nadia Lalami en 2 petits sets 64 61 et Ons Jabeur a pris sa revanche sur Fatima Zahra Lalami en 2 sets également 63 et 75. Les Tunisiennes et Marocaines ont auparavant battus respectivement l’Egypte et le Cameroun, en demi-finale par deux victoires à zéro.

Egypt hosted the 10th edition of the African Nations’ Cup – CAN 2009. The event took place in Cairo at “Smash Tennis Academy” which has organized that edition in conjunction with the Egyptian Tennis Federation registering the participation of 8 African nations: Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. In the Men’s Team event, the Moroccan Team composed by Reda El Amrani, Rabii Chaki and Yassine Idembarek won the Title for the 3rd consecutive year following the victory at the final against the Tunisian Team composed by the excellent Malek Jaziri, Heithem Abid and Ahmed Triki by two victories to zero. Reda El Amrani defeated Malek Jaziri by 62 64 and Rabii Chaki defeated Heithem Abid also in 2 sets by 63 76. The Teams of Morocco and Tunisia have previously defeated in the semi- final successively the Egyptian and Ghanaian Teams by two victories to zero. In the Women’s Team event, the Tunisian team composed by the young and talented African players, Ons Jabeur (15 years), Nour Abbes (16 years) and Sonia Daggou (16 years), has triumphed in final against the Moroccan team composed by Fatima Zahra El Alami, Nadia Lalami and Lina Bennani by two victories to zero. Nour Abbes defeated on the 1st match Nadia Lalami in 2 sets 64 61 and Ons Jabeur got her revenge on Fatima Zahra El Alami also in 2 sets 63 75. The Tunisian and Moroccan Teams have previously defeated in the semi- final respectively the Egyptian and Cameroon Teams by two victories to zero.

Compétition par équipe / Team event – Les Lauréats / Laureates

Dans la compétition individuelle, chez les Messieurs, le Tunisien Malek Jaziri, révélation de cette CAN a remporté le titre après sa victoire sur son compatriote Heithem abid par deux sets à un après 3 heures et 30 minutes de jeu 61 67 62 ; la 3e place est revenue au Marocain Reda El Amrani après sa victoire sur son compatriote Rabii Chaki 75 75. Chez les Dames, le titre est revenue à la Marocaine Fatima Zahra El Alami qui a battu en finale la Tunisienne Ons Jabeur par 60 63, la 3e place est revenue à Nadia Lalami (MAR) suite à sa victoire sur sa compatriote Lina Bennani 61 76.

At the individual event, in Men’s Single, Tunisian Malek Jaziri, revelation of this CAN has achieved the title when he defeated in the Final his compatriot Heithem Abid by two sets to one after 3 hours & 30 minutes 61 67 62; the 3rd place returned to Moroccan Reda El Amrani after his victory against his compatriot Rabii Chaki by 75 75. In the Women’s Single, the title returned to MoroccanFatima Zahra El Alami, after her success against Tunisian Ons Jabeur by 60 63, the 3rd place went back to Nadia Lalami (MAR) when she defeated her compatriot Lina Bennani 61 76.

Morocco and Tunisia distinguished

En Doubles Messieurs, les Marocains Reda El Amrani & Rabii Chaki ont remporté le titre devant les Tunisiens Malek Jaziri & Heithem Abid après un match très disputé 64 75, chez les Dames c’est la paire Marocaine composée de Fatima Zahra El Alami & Nadia Lalami qui s’est adjugée du titre après la victoire sur les Egyptiennes Ola Abou Zekri & Rana Sherif 61 63. A noter finalement que cette 10e édition de la CAN a été bien organisée par la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis et « Smash Tennis Academy » et a été honorée par la présence de Mr Tarak Chérif, Président de la CAT, Mme Israa El Sanhoury Présidente de la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis, Mr Ismail El Shafei, ITF Board et des Membres du Comité Exécutif qui a tenu sa réunion au Caire le 14 Novembre 2009 et a décidé que la 11e édition de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nation – CAN 2010 sera organisée à Tripoli – Libye en Novembre 2010.

In the Men’s Doubles, the Moroccan pair composed by Reda El Amrani & Rabii Chaki won the title against the Tunisian pair composed by Malek Jaziri & Heithem Abid after a very close match 64 75, in the Women’s Doubles, the Moroccan pair composed by Fatima Zhara El Allami & Nadia Lalami won the title after their victory against Egyptians Ola Abou Zekri & Rana Sherif 61 63. We will note finally that the 10th edition of the CAN was well organized by the Egyptian Tennis Federation and the “Smash Tennis Academy” and was honoured by the attendance of Mr. Tarak Cherif, CAT President, Mrs. Isra El Sanhoury President of the ETF, Mr. Ismail El Shafei, ITF Board and all members of the CAT Executive Committee which held its meeting in Cairo on the 14th of November 2009 and decided the organisation of the 11th edition of the African Nations’ Cup – CAN 2010 in Tripoli - Libya on November 2010.

November 2009 Exceptional Success

La Confédération Africaine de Tennis a organisé conjointement avec la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis à « Smash Tennis Academy » du 11 au 15 Novembre 2009 le 2e Master Africain des 14 ans et moins groupant les huit meilleurs joueurs et joueuses du Continent à l’issue des séries de Tournois organisés dans les différentes régions du Continent avec le support de l’ITF et de son Département de Développement. Tous les ténors du tennis Africains ont répondu présent à cet important rassemblement à part la joueuse Zimbabwéenne Valeia Bhunu, retenue par ses examens. Le Master Africain des 14 ans et moins a été organisé sur une durée de cinq jours, en procédant par la formation de 4 poules, 2 pour les garçons et 2 pour les filles composées de 4 joueurs et 4 joueuses chacune, où chacun des participants a eu à jouer 3 matches de poule ; les 1er et 2e de chacune des poules ont été qualifiés à jouer pour les 4 premières places et les 3e et 4e qualifiés à jouer de la 5e à la 8e place. Les matches de poules ont été tous d’un niveau très rapproché Chez les filles, l’Egyptienne Mayar Sherief, Vice Championne d’Afrique 2009 et récente vainqueur du Tournoi de Belgique lors de la tournée en Europe a remporté haut la main ce Master 2009 en battant en Finale sa compatriote Marina Albert, Championne d’Afrique en 2009 par le score de 76 61, tandis que la Sud Africaine Key Leigh Nicholas, en prenant le dessus sur Tunisienne Mouna Jebri par 62 63 a obtenu la 3e place. Chez les garçons, le Sud Africain Wayne Montgomery, Champion d’Afrique 2009, en faisant un parcours sans faute lors de cette compétition, s’est adjugé le titre en battant en finale l’Egyptien Ousama Mazen par le score de 64 36 63, la 3e place est revenue au Marocain Soufiene Mouline suite à sa victoire sur le Sud Africain Rossouw par 64 75 Lors de la cérémonie de clôture, les trophées ont été remis au lauréats par Madame Israa El Sanhouri, Présidente de la Fdéréation Egyptienne et Messieurs Johann Koorts, Président de la SATA & Trésorier Général de la CAT, Jacob Ndombé, Président de la FCDLT & Vice Président de la CAT, Houmed Houssein, Président de la FDT & Vice Président de la CAT et Akhtar Toorawa Vice Président de la CAT.

The Confederation of African Tennis has organized in conjunction with the Egyptian Tennis Federation at the “Smash Tennis Academy” from 11 to 15 November 2009 the 2nd African 14 & under Master gathering the best eight African players – Boys & Girls following the series of Tournaments organized in the different regions of the Continent with the support of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and its Development Department. All tenors of the African tennis players have attended this important event except Zimbabwean girl player Valeria Bhunu due to her school exams. The African 14 & U Master was organized along five days, four pools, 2 for the boys and 2 for the girls of 4 players each were placed and each player has competed 3 Pool’s matches; the 1st and the 2nd of each Pool were qualified to play for the first four places and the 3rd and the 4th of each Pool were qualified to play for the 5th to the 8th places. The Pool’s matches were all very close. In Girls, the Egyptian Mayar Sherief Vice African Champion 2009 and recently winner of the Tournament of Belgium during the European tour, carried the Master Title 2009 when she defeated on the Final her compatriot Marina Albert, African Champion 2009 by 76 61, at the same time, South African Kay Leigh Nicholas obtained the 3rd place after defeating the Tunisian Mouna Jebri by 62 63. In Boys, South African Wayne Montgomery, African Champion 2009 has won all his matches and carried the Master title when he beat on Final Egyptian Ousama Mazen by 64 36 63, the 3rd placed returned to the Moroccan Soufiene Mouline after beating South African Matthew Rossouw by 64 75 During the Closing ceremony, trophies were provided by Mrs. Israa El sanhoury, President of the Egyptian Tennis Federation and Messrs Johann Koorts, President of the SATA & CAT General Treasurer, Jacob Ndombe, President of the FCDLT & CAT Vice President, Houmed Houssein, President of the FDT & CAT Vice President and Akhtar Toorawa, CAT Vice President.

Tournée Européenne de l’Equipe ITF / CAT des 14 ans et moins 3 juillet – 9 Août 2009

Distinction Africaine

Comme durant chaque été, l’ITF organise une tournée en Europe pour les joueurs Africains âgés de 14 ans et moins qui se sont distingués lors des Championnats d’Afrique des Jeunes. Cette équipe Africaine 2009 qui était conduite par les deux entraîneurs Mr Mohamed Ramadan – EGY et Mme Terrey Schweitzer – RSA était composée des joueurs suivants : Mayar Sherief – EGY, Marina Albert – EGY, Madrie Leroux – RSA, Valeria Bhunu – ZIM, Wayne Montgomery – RSA, Soufiene Mouline – MAR et Kader Benabdellah – MAR. Cette tournée précéda et prépara la Coupe du Monde des 14 ans et moins qu’a abrité la République Tchèque. Les cinq tournois dans les lesquels nos représentants Africains ont pris part étaient : 6 - 11 Juillet : BNP Paribas Cup, Stade Français, Paris, France - Catégorie 1 13 - 18 Juillet : Windmill Cup Carl Gantois, Leeuwarden, Neds - Catégorie 1 20 - 25 Juillet : Le 13/14 des Hauts de Seine, Rueil-Malmaison, France - Catégorie 2 27 Juillet – 1er Août : 31st Rheinenergie Tennis Cup, Cologne, Allemagne - Catégorie 1 3 – 8 Août : Lapperre Young Champions Cup, Hasselt, Belgium – Catégorie 1

ITF / CAT 14 & under Team at the European Tour 3 July – 9 August 2009

African Distinction

As every summer, the ITF organzes a tour in Europe for the distinguished African 14 & under players during the African Junior Championships aged 14 years. That African Team was conducted by the Coaches Mr. Mohamed Ramadan – EGY and Mrs. Terrey Schweitzer – RSA and composed by the following African players: Mayar Sherief – EGY, Marina Albert – EGY, Madrie Leroux – RSA, Valeria Bhunu – ZIM, Wayne Montgomery – RSA, Soufiene Mouline – MAR and Kader Benabdellah – MAR. This tour preceding the World Junior Event hosted by the Czech Republic and was a good preparation for our players. The five tournaments to which our players took part were: 7 - 13 July: BNP Paribas Cup, Stade Français, Paris, France - Category 1 14 - 20 July: Windmill Cup Carl Gantois, Leeuwarden, Neds - Category 1 21 - 26 July: Le 13/14 des Hauts de Seine, Rueil-Malmaison, France - Category 2 28 July – 2 August: 31st Rheinenergie Tennis Cup, Cologne, Germany - Category 1 3 – 8 August : Lapperre Young Champions Cup, Hasselt, Belgium – Catégory 1

The African Team in Paris

Les résultats enregistrés par nos jeunes Africains n’étaient pas aussi brillants que lors de l’année 2008 mais étaient assez bon dans l’ensemble permettant à nos représentant de jouer un grand nombre de matches avec des joueurs venant de tous les Continents. La satisfaction Africaine est venue de la joueuse Egyptienne Mayar Sherief qui a remporté le Tournoi Lapperre Young Champions Cup, Hasselt en Belgique après avoir fait un parcours sans faute en éliminant respectivement la Belge Martins par 64 75, la Belge Vits 26 61 61, la Serbe Banicevic 63 75, en quart de finale elle a battu la Belge Kerf par 46 75 64, en ½ finale la Bulgare Boevska 36 62 75 et en Finale l’Equatorienne Gonzales 64 62.

The results registered by our young players were not as well as during the year 2008 but were definitely good giving the opportunity to the players to compete great number of matches against other players coming from all Continents. The African satisfaction came from Egyptian girl’s player Mayar Sherief when she achieved the single title of the Lapperre Young Champions Cup, Hasselt Tournament of Belgium following the victories registered successively against Belgium Martin 64 75, the other Belgium Vits 26 61 61, the Serb Banicevic 63 75, on the quarter final she defeated the Belgium Kerf by 46 75 64, on ½ final the Bulgarian Boevska 36 62 75 and on Final the player of Ecuador Gonzales 64 62.

32 Entraîneurs Africains présents à la Conférence Près de huit cents (800) entraîneurs représentant 100 pays ont pris part à la 16e Conférence Mondiale des Entraîneurs qui a eu lieu à Valence – Espagne du 29 Octobre au 3 Novembre 2009, avec des présentations réussies conduite par une pléiade d’experts internationaux à l’instar de Bruce Elliott (AUS), Louis Cayer (CAN), Antoni Girod (FRA), Doug Mac Curdy (USA), Steven Martens (BEL), Machar Reid (AUS), Ann Quinn (AUS), Dave Miley (ITF), Miguel Crespo (ITF), Luis Bruguera (ESP), Pancho Alvarino (ESP), Alberto Costa (ESP), Alex Corretja (ESP), Alberto Riba et Frank van Fraayenhoven (NL) qui a été honoré par ITF pour services rendus au jeu de Tennis en tant qu’entraîneur. Il est également important de mentionner qu’en plus de la présence de Hichem Riani, (TUN), Membre de la Commission des Entraîneurs à l’ITF & Directeur Général de la CAT, Amine Ben Makhlouf (MAR), Responsable de Développement à l’ITF en Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre, Prince Madema (ZIM), Responsable de Développement à l’ITF en Afrique de l’Est, Wahid Alioua (TUN) Coordinateur de Projets ITF/CAT, Anis Bouchlaka (TUN) DO ITF en Asie de l’Ouest et Dr Khaled Farouk (EGY) expert, 26 autres Entraîneurs Africains ont participé à la Conférence, représentant une douzaine de pays Africains.

16th Worldwide Coaches Conference / Valence – Spain 29 October - 3 November 2009

32 African Coaches attended the Conference Around eight hundred (800) coaches representing 100 countries took part at the 16th Worldwide Coaches Conference held in Valencia – Spain from 29 October to 3 November 2009 with successful presentations conducted by international experts such as Bruce Elliott (AUS), Louis Cayer (CAN), Antoni Girod (FRA), Doug Mac Curdy (USA), Steven Martens (BEL), Machar Reid (AUS), Ann Quinn (AUS), Dave Miley (ITF), Miguel Crespo (ITF), Luis Bruguera (ESP), Pancho Alvarino (ESP), Alberto Costa (ESP), Alex Corretja (ESP), Alberto Riba and Frank van Fraayenhoven (NL) who’s received from the ITF a special award for services to the game as a Tennis coach. It is also important to mention that in addition of Hichem Riani, (TUN), ITF Coach Commission Member & CAT General Manager , Amine Ben Makhlouf (MAR), ITF Development Officer of West and Central Africa, Prince Madema (ZIM), ITF Development Officer of East Africa, Wahid Alioua ITF/CAT Coordinator of projects, Anis Bouchlaka (TUN), ITF DO of West Asia and Dr. Khaled Farouk (EGY) tutor, 26 other African coaches have participated at that Conference representing around twelve African countries.

Coupes du Monde des Jeunes 2009 Seule l’équipe féminine Tunisienne des 16 ans et moins

a pu éviter la dernière place. Les différentes Coupes du Monde des jeunes 14 ans et moins et 16 ans et moins qui ont eu lieu respectivement en République Tchèque et au Mexique ont enregistré la participation de 5 équipe Africaines. Chez les 14 ans et moins l’Afrique du Sud chez les filles et les garçons a représenté le Continent Africain dans cette Coupe du Monde qui a lieu à Prostejov – République Tchèque du 11 au 16 Août 2009. Les résultats des Sud Africains n’étaient pas encourageants puisqu’ils se sont classés à la 16e et dernière place contrairement à l’équipe féminine Tunisienne qui s’est distinguée en 2008 en se classant 6e. Chez les 16 ans, et dans les compétitions de la Junior Davis Cup et Junior Fed Cup, qui se sont déroulées au Mexique au mois de Septembre, l’Afrique était représentée par 2 équipes féminines (Tunisie & Egypte) et une équipe masculine, le Maroc. Chez les filles, l’équipe de Tunisie a encore une fois occupé une place encourageante (10e sur 16 équipes) l’Egypte n’a pas pu éviter la 16e et dernière place tout comme le Maroc chez les garçons qui s’est classé 16e. Nous espérons que dans les années à venir les résultats des Africains atteindront nos espérances. Junior World Cups 2009 Only the 16 and Under Tunisian Girls Team

avoided the last place. The various 14 and Under and 16 and Under World Cups that occurred respectively in Czech Republic and in Mexico recorded the participation of 5 African teams. For the 14 and Under, South Africa had represented the African Continent with its boys and girls players, in this World Cup held in Prostejov- Czech Republic from 11th until 16th August 2009. The South African boys and girls’ results weren’t encouraging since they were ranked last, 16th place at the opposite of the Tunisian girls’ team that was distinguished in 2008 at the 6th place. For the 16 and Under, and in the Junior Davis Cup and Juniors Fed Cup, held in Mexico in September, Africa was represented by 2 African girls teams (Tunisia and Egypt) and one boys team (Morocco). In the girls’ event, Tunisia team had occupied again an encouraging place (10th out of 16 teams), Egypt could not avoid 16th and last place just like Morocco in the boys event that were ranked 16th. We hope that in the coming years the African results will reach our hopes. Nigeria - Octobre 2009 La seconde série de Stages de recyclage pour les Arbitres Africains Badge Blanc continue à être une des priorités de la CAT. Les Stages en Afrique du Nord ont été divisés en 2 parties, une première étape a eu lieu au Caire – Egypte et une deuxième à Tunis – Tunisie au mois d’Août 2009. 32 Arbitres Nord Africains au total ont pris part à ces Stages en provenance d’Egypte, Tunisie, Maroc et Algérie. A l’instar du 1er Stage qui a eu lieu à Pretoria – Afrique du Sud au mois d’Avril 2009, les Arbitres ont montré beaucoup d’enthousiasme et de motivation en participant à ces Stages (plusieurs parmi eux étaient certifiés badge blanc depuis 1995)

Nigeria in October 2009 The second series of refresher courses for white badge officials on the African continent continues to prove to be a worthy cause. The North Africa schools were divided into two (2), the first being held in Cairo, Egypt and the second following immediately in Tunis, Tunisia in August 2009. A total of thirty two (32) officials from the North Africa region attended the Course coming from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria. As in the first school held in Pretoria - Southern Africa in April 2009, the officials in the region were very enthusiastic and positive of having such a course (many of these officials have been ITF White badge officials since 1995).

Ces Stages ont été arrangés pour avoir lieu à l’occasion du Tournoi ITF Future de l’Egypte et du Tournoi Pro – Féminin de Tunisie. Ces Stages comprenaient des sessions théoriques en salle et des sessions pratiques d’évaluation durant les matches du tableau final et des qualifications. La derrière étape des Stages de recyclage pour Arbitre badge blanc a eu lieu au Nigeria vers la fin du mois d’Octobre 2009 avec la participation d’une majorité d’Arbitres en provenance de la région de l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Une vingtaine d’Arbitres ont été invités représentant le Nigeria, le Togo, le Ghana, le Sénégal, le Cameroun et la Côte d’Ivoire, douze Arbitres seulement ont finalement pris part à ce Stage, ils étaient tous motivés et enthousiastes durant la Coupe du Gouverneur – Messieurs 15,000 $ et le tournoi Pro Féminin doté de 25,000 $.

The refresher courses were arranged to take place to an ITF Men’s Event in Egypt and a Women’s Pro Circuit event in Tunisia. The courses comprised of class room sessions, with the practical evaluations being conducted during the period of the main draw and qualifying events. The final leg of refresher courses for white badge officials on the African continent concluded in Nigeria by the end of October 2009, with a large majority of officials from the West African region. A total of twenty (20) officials were invited, these covered officials from Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon and Ivory Coast. A total of twelve (12) officials were able to attend. Those in attendance picked up on the positive approach and enthusiasm along the Governors Cup (Men’s $15,000 and Women’s $25,000) Pro Circuit.

On signale que tous ces stages ont été animés et conduit par Mr Iain Smith Responsable Régional des Officiel ITF/CAT.

As with the previous Refresher course, the course was run on a similar basis to a Level 3 school in order to serve as a “new experience” for some of the candidates, with three (3) of the candidates in attendance having been selected to attend the Level 3 school in Cairo. It is important to mention that all these Courses were conducted by Mr. Iain Smith ITF/CAT Regional Officiating Responsible.

ECOLE DE PASSAGE DE NIVEAU 2 (BADGE BLANC)

EN EGYPTE – AVRIL 2009 L’école de passage de Niveau 2 pour les Officiels qui a eu lieu au Caire, Egypte au mois d’Avril 2009 a prouvé encore une fois un grand succès de l’Afrique, particulièrement la région de l’Afrique du Nord. Au départ, l’idée était d’organiser ce Stage au Maroc afin de permettre à un grand nombre d’Arbitres Marocains de le suivre et d’obtenir des certificats vu le nombre important de tournois organisés annuellement. Finalement, c’est l4egypte qui a été choisi pour abriter ce Stage au Caire. Vingt Deux (22) candidats ont suivi ce Stage venant de onze pays (Afrique & Europe): Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisie, Egypte, Maroc, Russie, Chypre, Libye, Allemagne, Espagne, Turquie, et Italie. Les Instructeur désignés par l’ITF pour conduire ce Stage étaient, Carlos Ramos (POR) et Andreas Egli (SUI), tous les deux Officiels ITF plein temps et Membres du « Grand Slam Officials’ Team ». Un rapport très positif a été reçu des instructeurs concernant les conditions d’organisation de ce Stage. A cet effet, nous remercions la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis et Mr Adel Nour qui ont organisé ce Stage dans les meilleures conditions comme il a été planifié auparavant.

2009 LEVEL 2 SCHOOL (WHITE BADGE) IN EGYPT – APRIL 2009

The ITF level 2 school held in Cairo, Egypt early in April 2009 proved to be a very successful school for Africa, in particular the North Africa region. The original idea/goal was to host the school in Morocco to try and ensure that more Moroccan officials are given an opportunity to achieve ITF certification, based on the number of International events that are staged during a year. Finally, Egypt was in agreement to assist and the school was moved to Cairo. Twenty two (22) candidates attended the school from a total of eleven countries (Africa and Europe): Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Cyprus, Libya, Germany, Spain, Turkey, and Italy. The ITF appointed teachers were Carlos Ramos (POR) and Andreas Egli (SUI). Both are full time officials at the ITF and members of the Grand Slam Officials’ Team. Very positive reports were received from the teachers in terms of the standard of the organization of the school. In this case a special word of thanks needs to be extended to the Egyptian Tennis Federation and Adel Nour for ensuring that everything ran according to plan.

Kenya a abrité la Conférence Régionale des Entraîneurs de l’Afrique de l’Est à Nairobi, 12 – 16

Octobre 2009 La Conférence Régionale biannuelle des entraîneurs de la région de l’Afrique de l’Est a eu lieu au Nairobi Sports Club du 12 au 16 Octobre 2009 sous l’égide de la Solidarité Olympique, du Comité National Olympique Kenyan et de la Fédération Kenyane de Lawn Tennis (KLTA). Trente huit entraîneurs en provenance de sept pays de la région ont pris part à cette Conférence. Les principales interventions lors de cette Conférence ont été présentée par Mr Dermot Sweeney (ZAM), Directeur du Centre d’entraînement ITF de Pretoria, Mike Barrel (GB) et Prince Madema (ZIM), Responsable ITF de Développement en Afrique de l’Est ainsi que des intervenants Kenyans et de la région.

Kenya hosts East African Regional Coaches Conference in Nairobi, 12 – 16

October 2009 The biennial East African Regional Coaches Conference took place at the Nairobi Sports Club in Nairobi from 12 to 16 October 2009 under the authority of Olympic Solidarity, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya and the Kenya Lawn Tennis Association (KLTA). Thirty-eight coaches from seven East African nations including the local host Kenya attended the conference. The main speakers were Mr. Dermot Sweeney (ZAM), Director of the ITF Training Centre of Pretoria, Mike Barrell (GB) and Prince Madema (ZIM), ITF Development Officer of East Africa whose were supported by speakers from the region and Kenya.

La Conférence avait pour thèmes principaux: Play & Stay et Stratégie & Tactique pour le haut niveau. L’Objectif de cette Conférence était également de mettre en valeur l’importance de l’initiation des joueurs âgés de moins de dix ans qui rentre dans le nouveau programme de l’ITF - tennis 10s, d’autres sujets ayant pour thèmes, la technique avancée, l’entraînement mental, l’entraînement physique et tactique pour les jeunes talents. Mr Patrick Gichira, President de la Kenya Lawn Tennis Association (KLTA), a tenu à remercier le NOCK et l’ITF pour leur support continu dans la formation des entraîneurs. Il a également encouragé tous les entraîneurs en leur rappelant qu’ils étaient les moteurs et « la colonne vertébrale » des différents programmes de développement dans leurs pays respectifs. Mr Jim Davies, ancien Président de KLTA a tenu à prononcer des mots d’encouragement, il commenta “ Rassembler tous les entraîneurs est une bonne chose surtout quand ceci leur offre une opportunité de partager les informations et de dresser les problèmes de la région collectivement”.

The conference had a dual theme: Play and Stay and advanced strategy and tactics. The objective of the conference was to educate coaches on the importance of training players under the age of ten, which is in line with the new ITF programme - tennis 10s. Other topics included advanced technique, mental training on court, physical training and tactical training for top junior players. The Chairman of the Kenya Lawn Tennis Association (KLTA), Patrick Gichira praised both NOCK and the ITF for their continued support of coaches’ education. He encouraged the coaches and reminded them that they are the engine and back-bone of the various development programs in their respective nations. Proceedings came to close with encouraging words from the former chairman of the KLTA, Jim Davies, who commented, "Bringing all coaches together is good since it gives coaches an opportunity to share information and address the problems of the region collectively."

Novembre 2009 La Conférence Régionale ITF / CAT / OS des pays de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre a eu lieu à Dakar - Sénégal au Club Olympique de Dakar du 22 au 26 Novembre 2009. Les cinq jours de la Conférence qui a eu comme thème « Approche pédagogique par les situations de jeu, du joueur débutant au jouuer de haut niveau » a été marquée par des présentations sur le court par des experts ITF, Mark Tennant (GB) et Jean François Blanco (FRA). D’autres interventions ont été présentées par Amine Ben Makhlouf, Responsible ITF de Développement en Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre, Hichem Riani, Directeur Général de la CAT, Clément Ngoran, Directeur Technique du Centre ITF/CAT/FST Francophone de Dakar et Alla Yao François, Directeur à la CONFEJES « Conférence des Ministres de la Jeunesse et des Sports des Etats et Gouvernements ayant le Français en Partage ».

Senegal hosts Regional Coaches Conference for West & Central Africa in Dakar from 22 to 26

November 2009 The ITF / CAT / OS Regional Coaches Conference for West & Central Africa was held at the Tennis Club Olympique in Dakar, Senegal from 22 to 26 November 2009. The five day conference, with the theme of Coaching Game Situations for Starter to High Level Players, included practical presentations from ITF experts, Mark Tennant from the UK and Jean-Francois Blanco from France. Additional presentations were also given during the week by ITF Development Officer for West & Central Africa, Amine Ben Makhlouf, CAT General Manager, Hichem Riani, Head Coach of the ITF/CAT/FST Francophone Training Centre, Clement N’Goran and Alla Yao François, Manager of the CONFEJES “Conférence des Ministres de la Jeunesse et des Sports des Etats et Gouvernements ayant le Français en Partage”.

Participants

Cette Conférence, conduite entièrement en Français avec quelques traductions instantanées pour les Anglophones, a vu la participation de 48 entraîneurs venant du Sénégal, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambie, Mauritanie, Mali, Nigeria et Gabon. Elle a pu avoir lieu grâce au support de l’ITF, de la Solidarité Olympique, de La Confédération Africaine de Tennis (CAT), de la CONFEJES et de la Fédération Sénégalaise de Tennis.

The conference, conducted entirely in French with several immediate translations for the English speaking, was attended by 48 coaches from Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Mauritania, Mali, Nigeria and Gabon and was made possible by the support of the ITF, the Olympic Solidarity (OS), the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), the CONFEJES and the Senegalese Tennis Federation (FST), without all of whose support the conference would not have been possible.

Burkina Faso – Stage de Formation d’Entraîneurs Niveau 1 ITF/CAT/OS – Ouagadougou du 24

Septembre au 4 Octobre 2009

La Fédération Burkinabé de Tennis a organisé en conjonction avec le Comité National Olympique du Burkina Faso, un stage ITF/CAT/OS de Niveau 1 et ce du 24 Septembre au 4 Octobre 2009. Ce stage a été conduit par Mr Wahid Alioua (Coordinateur Technique des Projets ITF/CAT) et a vu la participation de 19 entraîneurs dont 2 Ivoiriens. Le Stage a été précédé par 3 jours de formation Play Tennis avec la participation de 31 entraîneurs et joueurs locaux. La formation a été consacrée à la présentation des nouvelles approches des entraînements basées sur le jeu et l’adaptation de l'activité par la mise en place des différents types de balles.Divers thèmes concernant le rôle du coach, l'aspect technico-tactique et mental, les techniques d’entraînements collectifs et individuels ont été abordées en salle et sur les courts. Les participants à cette formation étaient motivés et enthousiastes.

Burkina Faso – ITF/CAT/OS Level 1 Coaches Course – Ouagadougou from 24 September to 4

October 2009 The Fédération Burkinabé de Tennis has organized in conjunction with the National Olympic Committee of Burkina Faso, an ITF/CAT/OS Level 1 Coaches Course in Ouagadougou from 24 September to 4 October 2009. The Course was conducted by Mr. Wahid Alioua, ITF/CAT Technical Projects Coordinator and registered the participation of 19 coaches including 2 from Côte d’Ivoire. The Course was preceded by a 3 day Play & Stay course registering the attendance of 31 local coaches and players. The Course covered the modern approaches of teaching tennis based on the game and how to use different types of balls. Other aspects were learned on court and at the lecture room concerning the role of the coach, technique, tactics and mental in addition of the individual and group lessons. All participants were very motivated and enthusiastic.

– Ouagadougou du 6 au 16 Octobre 2009 Mr Wahid Alioua, Coordinateur Technique des Projets ITF/CAT a conduit un Stage de Formation d’entraîneurs de Niveau 2 à Ouagadougou du 6 au 16 Octobre 2009. 13 candidats dont un Ivoiriens ont participé à cette formation. Burkina Faso – ITF/OS Level 2 Coaches Course – Ouagadougou from 6 to 16 October 2009

Mr. Wahid Alioua ITF/CAT Technical Projects coordinator has conducted a Level 2 Coaches Course in Ouagadougou from 6 to 16 October 2009. 13 candidates including one from Côte d’Ivoire have attended the Course. Different items concerning biomechanics, individual and group lessons and nutrition were teached on the conference room and on court. “I think that this course was very successful, and I want to thank Mr. Christian Yves Zongo and his team at the Fédération Burkinabé de Tennis for his hospitality, also all Responsible of the National Olympic Committee of Burkina Faso for the good organization of that Course and finally I want to thank all candidates for their interest”, commented Mr. Wahid Alioua, ITF Tutor of the Course.

Réunion du Comité Exécutif de la CAT Le Caire – Egypte le 14 Novembre 2009

Le Comité Exécutif de la Confédération Africaine de Tennis (CAT) s’est réunit au Caire à Smash Tennis Academy le samedi 14 Novembre 2009. Cette réunion est venue en marge du déroulement de la 10e édition de la coupe d’Afrique des Nations – CAN 2009 que la Fédération Egyptienne de Tennis a abrité du 9 au 15 novembre 2009. Cette réunion a été présidée par Mr Tarak Chérif, Président de la CAT enregistrant la présence des Vices Présidents, Khalid Outaleb, Jacob Ndombe, Houmed Houssein, Akhtar Toorawa, du Trésorier Général de la CAT Mr Johann Koorts, du Directeur Général de la CAT Mr Hichem Riani et de l’Administratrice de la CAT Melle Issem Essais. Tous les points de l’ordre du jour ont été discutés lors de cette Réunion dont essentiellement, les recommandations du Comité de Développement de la CAT, réunit à Valence les 28 et 29 Octobre 2009, les Affaires Administratives et Financières de la CAT, les Championnats d’Afrique des Jeunes et l’AGA de la CAT qui auront lieu à Abuja – Nigeria au mois d’Avril 2010 et la CAN 2010 dont l’organisation a été décernée à la Libye.

CAT Executive Committee Meeting Cairo – Egypt 14 November 2009

The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) has met in Cairo at the Smash Tennis Academy on Saturday 14 November 2009. That Meeting came following the 10th edition of the African Nations’ Cup – CAN 2009 hosted by the Egyptian Tennis federation from 9 to 15 November 2009. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Tarak Cherif, CAT President and the attendance of the Vice Presidents, Khalid Outaleb, Jacob Ndombe, Houmed Houssein, Akhtar Toorawa, the CAT General Treasurer Mr Johann Koorts, the CAT General Manager Mr. Hichem Riani and the CAT Administrator Ms Issem Essais. All points of the Agenda were discussed during the Meeting, particularly, the Recommendations of the CAT Development Committee which held its Meeting in Valencia on 28 and 29 October 2009, the Administrative and Financial Affairs, the African Junior Championships and the CAT AGM to be held in Abuja – Nigeria on April 2010 and the CAN 2010 allowed to be organized by Libya in November 2010.

Le Comité de Développement de la CAT a profité de la tenue de la Conférence Mondiale des Entraîneurs à Valence – Espagne et la présence de la majorité de ses Membres pour tenir sa réunion périodique. Cette Réunion a été Présidée par Mr. Khalid Outaleb et a enregistré la présence de Messieurs Leon Friemond, Dave Miley, Frank Couraud, Hichem Riani, Amine Ben Makhlouf, Karl Davies et Wahid Alioua. Plusieurs sujets ont été discutés durant les deux jours de la réunion dont essentiellement : le Budget de Développement de l’Afrique en 2010, le Circuit Africain des 14 ans et 12 ans et moins en 2010, les Circuits de Prize Money, les Championnats d’Afrique par équipes pour les 14 ans et 16 ans, les Congrès régionaux des entraîneurs, les AJC & la CAN 2010 ainsi que d’autres points importants. Toutes les recommandations du Comité de développement ont été élaborées pour être présentées au Comité Exécutif devant se réunir au Caire le 14 Novembre 2009.

CAT Development Committee Meeting Valence – Spain 28 & 29 October 2009.

The CAT Development Committee took advantage of the fact that the Worldwide Coaches Conference was held in Valencia – Spain to organise its periodical Meeting on 28 and 29 October 2009 with the attendance of the majority of its Member. That Meeting was chaired by Mr Khalid Outaleb and registered the attendance of Messrs Leon Friemond, Dave Miley, Frank Couraud, Hichem Riani, Amine Ben Makhlouf, Karl Davies and Wahid Alioua. Many subjects were discussed during the two day of Meeting, essentially: The Development Budget for Africa in 2010, the African Circuits of 12 and 14 years, the African Junior Teams’ Championships for the 14 years and 16 years, the Regional coaches’ Conferences, the AJC & CAN 2010 and several other important points. All recommendations of the Development Committee were elaborated to be presented to the CAT Executive Committee which Meeting was programmed to be held in Cairo on 14 November 2010.

La Commission ITF des Entraîneurs, présidée par l’Egyptien Mr Ismail El Shafei, également Membre de l’ITF Board et qui est composée par une quinzaine de membres représentant les cinq Continents dont Messieurs Hichem Riani (TUN) et Hishem Nasser (EGY) a tenue sa réunion périodique le 29 Octobre 2009 en marge de la 16e Conférence Mondiale des Entraîneurs qui a eu lieu à Valence – Espagne du 30 Octobre au 3 Novembre 2009 Plusieurs sujets ont été discutés lors de cette réunion dont notamment : les issues du coaching professionnels et l’apprentissages à distance, les stages et les conferences pour les entraîneurs, le tennis professionnel, le développement des projets Play & Stay et du tennis 10s’, le coaching sur le court ainsi que d’autres sujets important relatifs au développement des entraîneurs et entraînements.

ITF Coaches’ Commission Meeting Valence – Spain 29 October 2009

The ITF Coaches’ Commission, chaired par Egyptian Mr. Ismail El Shafei, also ITF Board Member, composed by around fifteen members representing the five Continents including Messrs Hichem Riani (TUN) and Hishem Nasser (EGY) held its periodical meeting on 29 October 2009, following the 16th Worldwide Coaches Conference held in Valencia from 30 October to 3 November 2009. Several subjects and items were discussed during the meeting, notably : Professional coaching and coaches education issues, distance learning, coaches courses and conferences, growth of Play & Stay projects and Tennis 10s’, on court coaching and many other important subjects in relation with coaches and training development.

Circuit ITF Junior des 18 & U Ouest Africain 2009

Bénin & Togo: 8 – 18 Septembre 2009 L’Egypte et le Bénin dominent le Circuit en s’adjugeant des

quatre titres en simple Quatre pays (70 joueurs) ont pris part à la première étape de ce circuit à Cotonou – Bénin du 8 au 12 Septembre 2009. Le tableau des jeunes filles a été dominé par la Béninoise Stéphanie N’tcha qui a battu la Sud africaine Jessica Laing 6/1 6/4 tandis que Omar El Kheshen (EGY) a pris le meilleur sur Benjamin Lock (ZIM) 6/4 6/7 6/2, chez les garçons. En Doubles, N’tcha Stéphanie a continue sa domination en remportant l’épreuve avec sa partenaire Sohinee Ghosh (MRI) après avoir battu les soeurs Laing’s Jessica et Melissa alors que El Kheshen et son partenaire Mark Wakim gagnaient chez les garçons. Lors de la deuxième étape de Lomé – Togo : 14 – 18 Septembre, Mark Wakim a pour sa part remporté l’épreuve de Simple après avoir battu son ami Egyptien Mohamed Auf 7/5 6/3. La finale de simple fille a été une répétition de la 1e étape du Bénin avedc la défaite de Jessica Laing face à N’Tcha Stéphanie (BEN) 6/2 6/3. La finale des Doubles garçons a vu la victoire des Nigérians Samuel Omoile et Itodo Vincent, tandis que chez les filles les sœurs Laing (RSA) ont pris leur revanche sur la paire formée de N’Tcha et Ghosh . Mr Atafeitom Tagba, Président de la Fédération Togolaise de Tennis commenta: “ C’set un grand plaisir pour moi d’avoir un évènement aussi important dans mon pays, je veux remercier l’ITF pour son assistance, et une remerciement particulier aux membres du Comité Directeur de la FTT, au Comité National Olympique et au Ministre des Sports qui ont largement contribué au succès de cet évènement».

ITF West Africa 18 & Under Junior Circuit 2009 Benin & Togo: 8 – 18 September 2009

Egypt and Benin dominated the Circuit by capturing the four singles titles.

Fourteen countries (70 players) took part in the opening leg of the circuit in Cotonou – Benin 8 – 12 September 2009. The Girls’ events were dominated by the Benin girl Stephanie N’tcha defeating the South African Jessica Laing 6/1 6/4 while Omar El Kheshen (EGY) defeated Benjamin Lock (ZIM) 6/4 6/7 6/2. In the doubles draw N’tcha Stéphanie continued her domination by winning the girls draw partnering Sohinee Ghosh (MRI) over Laing’s sisters Jessica and Melissa while Elkheshen imitated her partnering Mark Wakim in the boys draw. Mark Wakim went on to capture the singles titles on the second leg of the circuit in Lomé – Togo on 14 - 18 September by defeating his friend Auf Mohamed (EGY) 7/5 3/6 6/1. The girl’s final was a repeat of the Benin’s leg for Jessica Laing who lost to N’tcha Stephanie (BEN) 6/2 6/3. The boy’s doubles final saw the Nigerian Samuel Omoile partnering Itodo Vincent capturing the title, while Laing’s sister took their revenge over the pair N’Tcha and Ghosh. Atafeitom Tagba, President of the Togo Tennis Federation said, said: “it is a pleasure for me to have such event in the country; I would like to thank the ITF for their assistance, special thanks to the committee members of the FTT, the National Olympic Committee and the Sports Minister to make of this event a great success”.

L’Olympique Club de Dakar Partenaire de la Fédération Sénégalaise de Tennis

J’ai tenu, en écrivant cet Article à mettre en valeur le partenariat qui doit exister entre une Fédération nationale et ses Club affiliés. L’exemple vient du Sénégal, particulièrement de l’Olympique Club de Dakar que je viens de visiter tout récemment à l’occasion de la tenue de la Conférence Régionale des Entraîneurs de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre. La Fédération Sénégalaise de Tennis (FST) est parmi les Associations les plus actives de la région de l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Son dynamique et infatigable Président Mr Issa Mboup, ainsi que ses collaborateurs à l’instar de Mr Layti Ndiaye, Mr Oumar Traoré, Mr Abou Berthé, Mr Ousseynou Kama et bien d’autres contribuent efficacement au développement du tennis Sénégalais et régional, particulièrement le tennis en Afrique Francophone, d’ailleurs le Centre Francophone d’Entraînement ITF/CAT/FST de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre qui est basé depuis plus de 2 ans à Dakar se développe grâce aux efforts de toutes les parties y compris ceux de la FST. L’Olympique Club de Dakar et son Manager Mr Abou Berthé, Ex. joueur de Coupe Davis et entraîneur de tennis diplômé BE 1 en France, est considéré comme l’un des grands partenaires de la FST. Ainsi, et de part son infrastructure sportive moderne, la majorité des évènements internationaux organisés par la FST trouvent refuge dans ce club, à l’instar des deux Futures annuels dotés de 15,000 $ chacun, du Tournoi de Prize Money du Sénégal et tout récemment de la Conférence régionale des entraîneurs. Je tiens à remercier ce Club pour sa coopération et sa contribution efficace pour le développement du tennis Sénégalais en particulier et du tennis Ouest Africain en général.

The Olympic Club of Dakar Partner of the Tennis Federation of Senegal

I insisted, in writing this Article to emphasize the partnership that have to exist between a National Federation and its affiliated clubs. It is the example of Senegal, particularly of the Olympic Club of Dakar that I have just recently visited in the occasion of the Regional Coaches’ Conference for West and Central Africa. The « Fédération Sénégalaise de Tennis » FST is among the most active Associations of the West African region. Its dynamics and untiring President Mr Issa Mboup, as well as his collaborators as Mr. Layti Ndiaye, Mr. Oumar Traoré, Mr. Abou Berthé, Mr. Ousseynou Kama and others contribute effectively to the development of Senegalese and regional tennis, particularly tennis in French-speaking Africa, moreover the ITF/CAT/FST French speaking Training Centre of Central and Western Africa which is based for more than 2 years in Dakar develops thanks to all parts including those of the FST. The Olympic Club of Dakar and its Manager Mr. Abou Berthé, formal Davis Cup player and a BE 1 Tennis Coach – French Diploma, is considered as one of the large FST partners. Thus, with its modern sporting infrastructure, the majority of national and international events organized by the FST find refuge in this club, such as the two annual Futures endowed by 15,000$ each, the Senegal Prize Money and recently the Regional Coaches Conference. I want to thank this Club for its cooperation and its efficient contribution in for the development of Senegalese Tennis particularly and the West African tennis in general.

L’Olympique Club de Dakar L’Olympique Club de Dakar a été fondé en 1982 par Cheickh Sidia Berthé ayant comme première appellation « école sénégalaise de tennis », club qui ne comptait que trois terrains de tennis. Avec le développement des autres activités le nom « olympique club » fut avancé par des membres et est devenue l’appellation du club. Le tennis se pratique depuis l'origine à l'Olympique Club, qui compte aujourd’hui : 8 courts de tennis en dur, un centre de fitness, un squash, un terrain de basket, un dojo, une piscine et un snack.

The Olympic Club of Dakar The Olympic Club of Dakar was founded in 1982 by Cheikh Sidia Berthé having as a primary name « Ecole Sénégalaise de tennis”, club that had only three tennis courts. With the development of other activities the name “Olympic Club” was advanced by members and became the Club’s name. Tennis is practiced since the beginning at the Olympic Club, which is composed today of: 8 hard tennis courts, a fitness centre, a squash, a basketball court, a dojo, a swimming pool and a Snack.

Wahid Alioua Nommé Coordinateur Technique de Projets ITF/CAT

Mr. Wahid Alioua, Ex. Directeur Technique national de la Fédération Tunisienne de Tennis a été nommé par l’ITF/CAT Coordinateur Technique de Projets ITF/CAT depuis le 1er Septembre 2009. Il sera basé à Tunis, au Siège de la CAT et sa double responsabilité sera comme suit : Pour la CAT : Travaillant pour les projets délégués par l’ITF à la CAT: Centre Francophone d’Entraînement de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre de Dakar, Circuit en Europe de l’équipe Africaine des 14 ans et moins, Circuit Africain des 12 ans et moins, les Wild Card pour les Circuit Professionnel financé par le GSDF ainsi que le CPP Programme en Afrique. Pour l’ ITF: Wahid effectuera des visites dans les pays Africains, une quinzaine de semaines par an, pour des projets finances par la Solidarité Olympique et pour développer les structures de la formation d’entraîneurs dans les pays Africains (Play & Stay, Niveau 1 et Niveau 2).

Wahid Alioua Assigned New ITF/CAT Technical Projects Coordinator

Mr. Wahid Alioua, Former Technical Director of the Tunisian Tennis Federation was assigned by the ITF/CAT since 1st September 2009 as Technical Projects Coordinator. He will be based in Tunisia at the CAT Headquarters and his dual Responsibility will be: For CAT: Working on the following projects delegate to CAT: West & Central Africa Francophone Training Centre of Dakar, African 14 & Team Circuit in Europe, 12 & under African Circuits, African Prize Money Circuit, Wild Card for GSDF funded Professional Circuit and CPP Programme in Africa. For ITF: Wahid will do around 15 weeks a year on Development work in Africa for projects funded by the Olympic Solidarity and for developing the national coaching structure in African countries (Play & Stay, Level 1 and Level 2 Courses).

Mr Wahid Alioua est titulaire d’une Maîtrise en Education Physique, Entraîneur Certifié ITF Niveau 2 et Entraîneur de 3e Degré Tunisien; il a été joueur, membre de l’équipe nationale des jeunes en Tunisie, Ex. Entraîneur National et Directeur Technique National au sein de la Fédération Tunisienne de Tennis Durant plusieurs années. La CAT souhaite beaucoup de succès à Wahid.

Mr Wahid Alioua has a Master Grade on Physical Education, ITF Level 2 Certified Coach and Tunisian 3rd Degree Tennis Coach; he was tennis player with the Junior Tunisian National Team and former National Team Coach and Technical Director of the Tunisian Tennis Federation for many years.
