Van Gogh was born in the year of 1853 in the Netherlands and died in 1890. Van Gogh had OVER 800 paintings. Van Gogh sold his artwork for 50 million dollars but wasn’t pretty rich. Although they were worth 50 million he only sold one of his paintings called, The Red Vineyard, for 350-400 Francs or $309.94. Another interesting thing is that Van Gogh cut off his own ear. He got into a fight with his roommate and his friend, he accidentally cut off his lower part of the left ear and gave it as a gift to prostitute.
