Duke Orsino:If music be the food of love, play on,Give me excess of itTwelfth Night Act 1, scene 1, 13In the opening of Twelth Night the Duke of Ilariya is intrigued by the sound of music. It brings him out of his worries and concerns or a few moments. He decides to indulge himself in the love for the music and all of the things he has fervor for.

Music Ministries: "Music is integral to the celebration of any liturgical event. The voice of the assembly is the primary voice in any liturgy. Singing unifies and deepens our communal prayer. Singing together, we become one body in Christ."-St Thomas Becke Catholic Church

We all hear a calling to serve the lord. Attending worship is one part. Donating our personle time is another way. In particiapting in Music Ministries we are using th talant god gave us to serve the community. The Choir is usually a highlight of any service. The music brings the congregation together and we are all one voice. Even the best singers need to learn how to sing properly and in a Choir that means a blended sound. Your body and vocal chords are built in a way that decides how wide your range is and how much sound to produce. No matter how much one singer projects if your body is not designed to produce a large sound the pushing and strainig on the vocla chords in correctly make them slape and can cause a severe injury expicailly in the intrained singer. The Solution: Choir Mikes

Above is a photo of the Standard Choir micro phone . The cost rangeis between $250 - $500 dollar per Microphone. Plus Tax, Delivery and Warranty. Since our choir area is small two micropone shoud safice. Below is a digram of how Choir Mikes work. They reach out and pull the sound into the body and then the amplifying system send it out through speakers so the audience can hear it. The goal of a choir is to sound like one voice and create a balance sound. Our talanted choir director can arrange us in a way where he puts softer voices in the front where the mike would pick up the most sound. And louder voice in the back. To create the balance sound.

How badly do we want these Microphones? Are we willing to put an effort towards getting something we want. I think the answer is YES.Talant Show Preposal:

A talant show is a very good way to use what gifts we have to serve our community under god. We will not only be raising money to provide our choir with microphones, but we will be providing family entertainment for the nieghborhood. This is also a good way to do outreach and let the people of this community know we are here.

Below is a detailed explaination of what is needed to make this event a success. Goal: To help bring money into our Music Ministries. Aim: To raise money to buy concert microphones and hopefully pay for items needed to have a successful music program. Music Ministry Such As: choir robes, new music, more music stands, choir pew repairs, piano tuneing, organ repaires, choir microphones, body microphones for clergy and maybe to set off the cost of singer for special events.

Intention: To have a talant show and Maybe a bake sale / second act / concert (if we can find the right amount people)Materials needed: A wide open space such as the cafeteria stage. Vocal micophones. Chairs for seating. Stage decoration and dressing crew. A program/ ticket layout and prinitng volunteer. Public realtions volunteers, Box office sale representatives. Stage managers, Running crew. Two M.C.'s. A sign-up sheet well be available with all available backstage positions. Brooklyn's most talanted performaces.Optional ideas: Depends on volunteers availablity for a intermission bake sale( coffee express volunteers would be ideal to do this is possible). Breakdown and set-up crew. A second act concert featuring our Choir and our childrens choir (Depends on the availabiltiy of our Music Director, accompianist and the choir). First Act has a number done by the class and coached by our Sunday School Teachers ( if ther ae available to participate). A Song Such as: I got the Joy Joy Joy Down in my heart can be sung by the kids and practiced during Sunday School. The Show:

The kids can pitch in to make the decorations. The crew can put them up around the stage.Programs and tickets can be printed and designed by a skilled a volunteer. Box office can be made available after sunday service by the front of the church entrance and the day of the show. All tickets are numbered so we know how many seats to set -up. Seating is first come first serve.

Tickets can be priced $8 for adults, $6 for children in advanced. $10 dollars and $8 dollars at the door. Babies under 2 years old are free! Our evening song event raised over $1,000 dollars for Chips. If we apply the same effort to getting things for our own parish using our god given talants we can take our "All Saints" to new heights. To conclude:

This is the real focus of the fund raiser is: Additional money made can go into the Music Ministrie's Budget and help pay for: Choir robes and care, new music, more music stands, choir pew repairs, piano tuneing, organ repaires, body microphones for clergy and maybe to off set the cost of singer for special events.
