EA Etudes Anglophones – Programme bilingue du collège et du lycée

6 Prep Fait partie d’Etudes Anglophones. Une année préparatoire pour

des élèves bilingues à l’oral mais qui doivent travailler la

grammaire et l’écrit. Examen à la fin de la 6e.

AA Anglais Avancé –programme de la Section Anglophone pour des

élèves très forts en Anglais Académique et ayant de bons

résultats dans toutes les disciplines. Entrée par invitation.

AR Anglais Renforcé –programme qui propose un renforcement en

anglais parlé en 6e et 5e qui peut permettre un passage en

Anglais Avancé. Ouverts aux élèves d’Anglais Académique n’ayant

pas le niveau d’Anglais Avancé.

Step Programmes pré-primaire (bilingue)et primaire (bilingue et non-

bilingue le mercredi de 13h à 15h30

Students will engage with English for two classes a week through literature, theatre, songs, and

poetry. Designed around their needs, and interests to reinforce the themes learned in academic English the goal is to increase oral fluency and enthusiasm through immersion.

3EA First Certificate Prep1 class per week

Objective– To develop and practice exam techniques and structures for the five skills of the

Cambridge First Certificate for Schools examThe Exam

– Five skills: Reading and Listening Comprehension, Speaking, Writing and Use of English (grammar and vocabulary in use)

– External exam at European B2 level, chosen by the Anglophone Section as an independent review of English level required to continue EA study into lycée

– An exam session will be organised on a Saturday in late May or early June, at La Tour or close by. The cost is approximately 230 euro.

Our vision:1.To deliver an effective speech in public2. To think critically 3. To build confidence 4. To improve research ability 5. To improve proficiency in English

This year we will try to meet weekly to

discuss interesting topics and work on our

public speaking.

We hope to have some friendly debates

against some of the local schools in the

area.

We would like a strong senior and junior

team to compete in the French Debating

Society at the end of the year.

If you are interested in improving your public speaking

skills come to the Anglophone section and ask for

Ms. Clarke. All are welcome!!!

IELTS PreparationWorkshops – Obtaining a good score on the IELTS

test is required for almost all students applying to Anglophone universities (U.S. U.K. etc)

– The Anglophone Section proposes 12 hour workshops for students in 1ère and Term.

– Intense preparation including two full, corrected Mock Tests

– These usually take place during the first two and half days of vacations and cover the four assessed skills (Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking) of the IELTS exam. The cost is 275 euro.

Our full-service Higher Education Advising Program

is open to all La Tour students wishing to apply to

universities in Anglophone countries as well as

Anglophone programs in Europe.

We provide assistance with:

• Choosing universities and courses in relation to

students’ interests and profile

• Preparation of student applications, including

editing and revising of letters of motivation and

personal statements

• Writing letters of recommendation for universities

• Preparation and sending of transcripts in English

• Guidance in completing applications before the

deadline
