L’inattendu!Au Valposchiavo on s’y heurte non seulement dans la natu-re, mais aussi dans les bourgs, avec leurs singularités archi-tectoniques, tout particulièrement à Poschiavo, le chef-lieu, dont l’originalité se moque de toute attente. A la tour penchée de Pise, on s’y accoutume tout de suite: c’est un monument et l’on y est préparé. Mais ce qui est inattendu, singulier, unique, voire excentrique, surtout lorsqu’il est doté de vie, et de par cette vie, d’une âme, n’est jamais tout à fait apprivoisé. A chaque nouvelle visite, l’expérience se renouvelle. Une thèse réfutable, certes, mais c’est du vécu.

Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCOLa ligne de la Bernina des Chemins de Fer Rhétiques ainsi que celle de l’Albula ont été inscrites au patrimoine mon-dial de l’UNESCO en juillet 2008. Uniques dans leur genre, elles s’insèrent harmonieusement dans un paysage parsemé d’extraordinaires œuvres d’ingé-nierie telles des viaducs et des tunnels hélicoïdaux. Le long des 122 kilomètres séparant Thusis de Tirano, via St. Moritz et le Valposchiavo, le parcours franchit 196 ponts, traverse 55 tunnels et touche 20 communes. Au point de pente maximale, le train grimpe avec une inclinaison de 70 ‰ par traction de simple adhérence, donc sans crémaillère.L’infrastructure ferroviaire, quasiment centenaire, est admi-rablement bien conservée. Un trajet de seules 90 minutes sépare la station de haute montagne Ospizio Bernina (2307 mètres d’altitude) de la ville de Tirano en Italie (430 mètres d’altitude). Le «Chemin de fer rhétique dans les paysages de l’Albula et de la Bernina» est peut-être la plus belle connexion nord-sud; elle vous fera vivre une expérience inoubliable au cœur des Alpes.

The unexpected!You encounter the unexpected all over the Valposchiavo, not only out in the open countryside but also in the villages and particularly at the center, in the town of Poschiavo itself whose many features no one could possibly be prepared for. It takes no time at all to get used to the Leaning Tower of Pisa: it is a monument and one is prepared for it. But to experience the unexpected, the strange, unique and even eccentric will never become routine – especially when filled with human activity, and life imbued with soul. Every new vista feels as fresh and as new as one’s very first experience. It may be possible to disprove this thesis, but what is involved here is an experience.

UNESCO World HeritageThe Albula and the Bernina rail lines were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in July 2008. The two unique rail lines with their spectacular viaducts and spiral tunnels blend harmoniously into the enchanting landscape. The line crosses 196 bridges, runs through 55 tunnels, and passes through 20 towns and villages running a spectacu-lar 122 kilometres from Thusis up via St. Moritz in the En-gadine and down the Valposchiavo to Tirano. At times the train climbs a gradient of 70 ‰, and this ranks it among the world’s very steepest traction rail lines: no cog rail here!The railway is now about 100 years old, and its infrastruc-ture is still authentic and in good condition. The high Alpine station at Ospizio Bernina (2307 metres above sea-level) is only 90 minutes’ travel from typically Italian town Tirano (430 metres). The Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina landscape is without doubt Europe’s most beautiful rail link between North and South and it provides a unique experience of the Alps.

UNESCO WeltkulturerbeZusammen mit der Albulabahn wurde die Berninabahn im Juli 2008 in die Welterbeliste der UNESCO aufgenommen.

Die beiden einzigartigen Bahnlinien fügen sich mit spekta-kulären Kunstbauten wie Viadukten und Kehrtunnels har-monisch in die bezaubernde Landschaft ein. Auf 122 wunderschönen Kilometern von Thusis über St. Moritz und durchs Valposchiavo nach Tirano führt die Stre-cke über 196 Brücken, durch 55 Tunnels und an 20 Ge-meinden vorbei. An der steilsten Stelle wird – ohne Hilfe eines Zahnrades - eine Steigung von 70 ‰ gemeistert. Die rund 100 Jahre alte Bahninfrastruktur befindet sich in sehr gutem und authentischem Zustand. Die hochalpine Station Ospizio Bernina (2307 m ü M) liegt nur 90 Minuten von Tirano’s Italianità (430 m ü M) entfernt. Die «Rhätische Bahn in der Landschaft Albula/Bernina» ist die wohl schönste Verbindung von Nord und Süd – eine einzigartige Erfahrung der Alpen.

Das Unerwartete!Im Valposchiavo stösst man darauf, nicht nur in der Natur, sondern auch in den Dörfern, vor allem in Poschiavo, dem zentralen Ort, dessen Eigentümlichkeiten jeder Vorberei-tung spotten. An den Schiefen Turm von Pisa gewöhnt man sich sofort, er ist ein Monument, man ist auf ihn vorbereitet. Aber die Erfahrung des Unerwarteten, des Seltsamen, Einmaligen, ja Exzentrischen, vor allem, wenn es von Menschen belebt und von Leben beseelt wird, wird niemals zur Routine. Jeder neue Anblick ist ein Nachvollzug des ersten Erlebnis-ses. Dies mag eine widerlegbare These sein, hier handelt es sich um eine Erfahrung.

Patrimonio mondiale UNESCOLa ferrovia del Bernina insieme alla ferrovia dell‘Albula è entrata nella lista del Patrimonio mondiale dell’UNESCO.

Entrambe le linee ferroviarie, uniche nel loro genere, s’in-seriscono in modo armonico in un affascinante paesaggio, costellato da manufatti spettacolari come viadotti e gallerie elicoidali. Sui 122 magnifici chilometri che separano Thusis da Tirano, passando per St. Moritz e attraversando la Valposchiavo la tratta si snoda su 196 ponti, attraversa 55 tunnel e si affac-cia su 20 comuni. Nel punto di massima pendenza il treno s’inerpica al 70 ‰ senza il supporto di ruote dentate. La pressoché centenaria e originale infrastruttura ferrovia-ria si presenta tuttora in ottimo stato. La stazione di alta montagna Ospizio Bernina (2307 m s.l.m.) dista soltanto 90 minuti dall’italica Tirano (430 m s.l.m.). La «Ferrovia retica nel paesaggio Albula/Bernina» è forse il più bel collegamento tra nord e sud: un’indimenticabile esperienza nel cuore delle Alpi.

L’inatteso!Nella Valle di Poschiavo vi ci si imbatte non solo nella natu-ra, ma anche nei paesi con le loro singolarità architettoni-che, specie a Poschiavo, il capoluogo, la cui originalità si fa beffa di ogni attesa. Alla torre pendente di Pisa ci si abitua subito, è un monu-mento, si è preparati. Ma l’esperienza dell’inatteso, singola-re, unico, o addirittura dell’eccentrico, specie se è animato dall’uomo e permeato di vita non diventa mai routine. Ogni nuova visita comporta una replica della prima espe-rienza. Tale tesi può esser confutata, ma qui si tratta di fatto sperimentato.

Uno spettacolo grandioso…… è quello che si apre a chi raggiunge la Valposchiavo, in ogni stagione e con qualunque mezzo di trasporto. Sia arrivando col Trenino Rosso della Ferrovia retica, sia giungendo in automobile dal Passo del Bernina si attra-versa uno dei paesaggi più eterogenei della Svizzera. Un percorso che, in breve tempo, porta dalle nevi eterne dei ghiacciai del massiccio del Bernina al fondovalle, carat-terizzato da giardini e frutteti, fino alle vigne della vicina Valtellina. Ein grandioses Schauspiel...... erwartet den Fremden, der ins Valposchiavo reist – zu jeder Jahreszeit und mit jedem Verkehrsmittel. Ob im Ber-nina Express der Rhätischen Bahn oder per Auto über den Bernina Pass: Vor seinen Augen breitet sich eine der ab-wechslungsreichsten Landschaften der Schweiz aus. Die Fahrt führt in kurzer Zeit vom Ewigen Eis des Bernina Mas-sivs hinab zur Talsohle mit Gärten und Hainen bis zu den Rebbergen des nahen Veltlins. Unvergesslich bleiben die Eindrücke, die sich im Wechselspiel so verschiedener Pan-oramen einstellen.

Un spectacle grandiose…… apparaît au voyageur qui atteint le Valposchiavo, en toute saison et quel que soit son moyen de transport. Una magnifica disce-sa che vi porta attraverso strade, pascoli, sentieri e vecchie mulattiere, passando per alcuni angoli molto suggestivi della Valposchiavo. Discesa impegnativa con difficoltà tecniche spe-cialmente nella prima parte fino al ponte tra le due Dogane. Poi fino La Rösa su un magnifico sentiero molto scorrevole prima di seguire un la-stricato di nuovo abbastanza impegnativo.Possibilità di ristoro a Ospizio Bernina, La Rösa, Sfazù, San Carlo e Poschiavo.
