Le 2ème appel à propositions
19
Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Oncology – Imaging biomarkers for anticancer drug
development – New tools for target validation to improve
drug efficacy in oncology– Molecular biomarkers: accelerating cancer
therapy development and refining patient care
Inflammation– Understanding aberrant adaptive immunity
mechanisms in human chronic immune-mediated diseases
– Translational research in chronic immune-mediated disease: bridging between animal models and humans

Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Inflammation (Efficacy pillar)
•Understanding aberrant adaptive immunity mechanisms in human chronic immune-mediated diseases (IMDs)
Comparative human T-cell and B-cell biology in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE) & Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to identify common denominators and differentiating factors between autoimmune diseases.

Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Inflammation (Efficacy pillar)
•Translational research in chronic immune-mediated disease: bridging between animal models and humans
Development of a) improved and validated animal models and
biomarkers with increased predictive value in IMDs, and
b) establishment of a pan-European network for immuno-pathology and translational biomarker research. Such a network would enable the
establishment of a biobank of preclinical samples (from IMD animal models) and equivalent clinical samples from patients with IMDs
15 Sept. 2009
22
Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Cancer (Efficacy Pillar)
•Imaging biomarkers for anticancer drug development
Development, evaluation and qualification of imaging biomarkers of a) tumor cell proliferation and death, b) the invasive phenotype.
To progress this research would require inter alia the creation of a network of at least 4-6 key imaging centres allowing validation of imaging biomarkers across multiple sites.
15 Sept. 2009

Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Cancer (Efficacy Pillar)
•New tools for target validation to improve drug efficacy
a) improved in vitro and in vivo models incl. Cancer stem cells and transgenic models,
b) Integrated bioinformatics of multivariate data in order to generate testable hypotheses (systems biology).

Paris, 25 Mai 2009
Prochain appel
Cancer (Efficacy Pillar)
•Molecular biomarkers - accelerating cancer therapy development and refining patient care
Research is needed for the characterization of predictive, prognostic and phamacodynamic biomarkers to address a range of topics including the characterization of circulating and disseminated tumour cells, cancer stem cell collection, characterization and expension in vitro, the identification of markers defining tumour heterogeneity and response to therapy. The standardisation of analytical methods and data retention and sharing following common data standards should be addressed.
