3GPPs MRPs High Level Objectives (1)

1 The MRPs role is to provide market and customer requirementsto drive standards decision-making and solutions.

2 The MRPs support collaborative standards-making at the globalevel in order to bring the benefits of new services, economiesof scale and new non-proprietary technologies - coupled with

widespread access, interoperability, roaming, a wide choice ofterminals and user terminal compatibility - to the mass-market.

3 With their respective market knowledge, the MRPs are workingtogether where appropriate to maximise the value of their inputto 3GPP in order to provide the best possible market solutions.

3GPPs MRPs High Level Objectives (2)

4 MRPs remain free to present their individual positionsconsistent with the working practices and consensus-building protocols of 3GPP and its Operational Partners.

5 In addition, the MRPs are working together on matters of

common interest which relate to the successful launch anddevelopment of networks, applications and services basedon 3GPP specifications, for example on timing, spectrum, licensing, regulation, and interoperability.

The present MRPs (GSA, GSM A, IPv6, UMTS F, UWCC)

encourage all 3GPP MRPs to adopt these High Level Objective
