Avec le succès rencontré par l'édition 2011 des « Voilesde Saint-Barth » on peut aujourd'hui affirmer que cetexceptionnel évènement nautique s'insère parfaitement

dans la stratégie d'ensemble de développement maitrisé de l'îleet contribue à véhiculer à l'extérieur l'image d'une destinationsingulière qui a su harmoniser ses choix économiques avec sonauthenticité, sa qualité de vie et les valeurs humaines de sapopulation.

Les organisateurs ont fait preuve d'un professionna-lisme exemplaire et les participants comme les spectateurs etles professionnels du tourisme reconnaissent unanimementl'importance de cette belle manifestation.

La barre a été placée très haute mais nous sommescertains que « l'équipe des Voiles » est suffisamment motivée,rodée et organisée pour garantir le succès de l'édition 2012.Il nous faut garder cette harmonie et cette qualité d'accueil, quicaractérisent notre destination en continuant à cultiver « l'artd'être une île » et à promouvoir les sports nautiques touten respectant le principe qui veut que : « l'Esprit sportif, et l'authenticité locale, ça compte ! » bien plus que tout le reste.

La Collectivité continuera à accompagner « Les Voiles deSaint-Barth » pour les années à venir et à accueillir comme ilse doit tous les visiteurs qui se rendront sur l'île pour cetteoccasion. Tous les marins du monde qui souhaitent partager cegrand moment avec nous seront les bienvenus.

Je souhaite que l'édition 2012 soit une réussite pourtous et une belle semaine de spectacle et de fête pour lapopulation et les visiteurs.

L es Voiles de Saint-Barth, it’s growing momentum as a majorevent in St.Barth, and its success in attracting satisfiedparticipants are of special interest to the Collectivity of

St. Barthelemy. The island of St. Barthelemy is thoughtfullycontending with its economic, environmental and cultural develop-ment, a fragile formula for such a small and internationallyrecognized island. The Collectivity recognizes that the developmentof Les Voiles de Saint-Barth is aligned with the very vision thatSt.Barth has for itself as it grows economically, through the marineindustry, while maintaining steadfastly the traditions, integrity,humanity, and integral charm inherent in St.Barth.

The organizing Committee of Les Voiles de Saint-Barth,through its exemplary work and high standards as well as theenthusiasm, effort and sportsmanship of the gracious yacht parti-cipants have caught the attention of the international yachting andtourist media who concur in the applause of this fledgling event.Despite the impressive precedent of the successful first 2 editions,I am certain that Les Voiles de Saint-Barth team has the compe-tence, motivation and organizational discipline to push the bar evenhigher in 2012. It is with pleasure that we recognize that thisnautical event is in keeping with the most important values of lifehere in St.Barth ; the encouragement of a competitive, intrepidspirit all while maintaining a harmony with the local elements.

semaine. Ça a bien marché pour nous et nous avons essayé de transformertout ce bon vent en vitesse. Le résultat est excellent. Je suis désolé pour notre

ami Donald (Tofias, skipper/propriétaire du W76 White Wings), mais nousl'avons battu. Ne reste plus qu'à reposer nos organismes, le foie en particulier

après toutes ces festivités (Rires).

AVIS DE COURSENOTICE OF RACE1 - COMITE D'ORGANISATION

Les VOILES DE SAINT-BARTH seront organisés à Saint Barthélemy du 2 au 7 AVRIL2012 par le Saint Barth Yacht Club, affilié à la Fédération Française de Voile et à laCaribbean Sailing Association.

2 - REGLES APPLICABLESLes régates seront régies par :- Les règles de course à la voile de l'ISAF, 2009-2012- Les prescriptions de Fédération Française de Voile- Les règles de la jauge CSA, and Minimum Safety Requirements- La jauge MULTI 2000- Le présent avis de course- Les instructions de course avec leurs annexes- Règle de protection de l'environnement : un bateau ne doit jeter aucun détritus dansl'eau. Des pénalités seront appliquées en cas de non respect.

3 - PUBLICITECette manifestation est classée en catégorie C selon l'article 20 des RCV de l'ISAF. Leparagraphe (d) (i) de la règle 20.3.1 s'appliquera lui aussi. A l'initiative de l'organisation ilpeut être demandé de porter sur le bateau un numéro d'identifiant et/ou une publicitédu sponsor de la manifestation en accord avec la règle ISAF 20.3.

4 - ADMISSIONLes yachts seront répartis par groupe :- Maxi /CSA Rating - Spinnaker 1 et 2 / CSA Rating > 0,770 (spi, asy, both)- Non-Spinnaker 1 et 2 /CSA Rating > 0,770 (jib, pol, sec)- Classic / Classic Simplified CSA Rating > 0,800- Racing-Multihull / Multi2000 > 1,000Au vu du nombre d'inscriptions dans chaque groupe, le Comité d'Organisation seréserve le droit de modifier les groupes ou d'en créer à sa discrétion.

5 - DROIT D’ENTREELes droits d'entrée sont de30 à 60 pieds 9 € le pied60 à 100 pieds et + 12 € le piedUne fois votre pré-inscription faite, vous pouvez régler votre participation en téléchar-geant sur notre site le pdf d'autorisation de paiement ou en joignant les organisateurspar email ou téléphone.

6 - INSTRUCTIONS DE COURSESeules les instructions de course distribuées lors de la confirmation des inscriptionsà Saint-Barthélemy seront officielles.

7 - RESPONSABILITE - ASSURANCELes concurrents participent à la régate entièrement à leurs propres risques. Ladécision de participer à une course ou de rester en course relève de leur seuleresponsabilité. L'autorité organisatrice n'acceptera aucune responsabilité, en cas de dommagematériel, de blessure ou de décès, dans le cadre de la régate, aussi bien avant,pendant, qu'après la régate.

1 - ORGANISING AUTHORITY“LES VOILES DE SAINT-BARTH”, organized by the St Barth Yacht Club in affiliation withthe French Federation of Sailing and the Caribbean Sailing Association, will take placefrom 2 to 7 of APRIL 2012 on the island of Saint Barthelemy.

2 - RULESRacing will be governed by :- The ISAF rules of sailing. 2009-2012- The regulations of The French Federation of sailing- The CSA rules and Minimum Safety Requirements- The Multi 2000 rules- This notice of race- The sailing instructions- Environmental rule: None of the boats are allowed to throw any waste on water.Penalty will be applied in case of deviation.

3 - ADVERTIZINGThe event will be Category “C” as specified in the RRS (2009-2012). Boats may berequired to display advertizing provided by the organizing authority as permitted by ISAFRegulation 20.3. (d)(i).

4 - ELIGIBILITY- Maxi Yacht / CSA Rating- Spinnaker 1 and 2 /CSA Rating > 0,770 (spi, asy, both)- Non-Spinnaker 1 and 2 / CSA Rating > 0,770 (jib, pol, sec)- Classic / Classic CSA Rating > 0,800- Racing - Multihull / Multi 2000 > 1,000After consideration of the number of boat entries, the Organizing Committee reservesthe right to modify the classes or add classes.

6 - SAILING INSTRUCTIONSOfficial sailing instructions will be those distributed in the registration packages only.

7 - DISCLAIMERCompetitors agree to be bound by the International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of

Sailing (RRS) 2009/2012, by the Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race.Competitors agree to take any and all responsibility for the nautical qualities of their

boat, the rigging, the crew's ability and the safety equipment.Competitors also agree to take any and all responsibility for damages caused to third

persons or their belongings, to themselves or to their belongings, a shore and at seaas a consequence of their participation in the regatta, relieving of any responsibility, the

Saint Barth Yacht Club and all persons or sponsors involved in the organization underwhatever qualification and to accept full responsibility for the behavior and dress .../...

Les concurrents devront présenter, au moment de leur confirmation d'inscription, lesdocuments suivants :- Les concurrents français devront présenter lors de la confirmation des inscriptions-leurs licences FF Voile, avec visa médical.

- Les concurrents étrangers devront justifier de leur appartenance à une autoriténationale affiliée à l'ISAF

- Les concurrents devront justifier d'une assurance en responsabilité civile avecune couverture d'un montant minimum de 1,6 millions d'euros,

- Le formulaire de renonciation à recours contre le Comité d'organisation, sespartenaires et assureurs, dûment daté et signé.

- Le numéro de téléphone et l'adresse email.- La liste d'équipage

9 - COMMUNICATIONSTous les bateaux doivent être équipés d'une VHF Marine avec les canaux 72, 12 et 16.

10 - PARCOURSLes parcours seront décrits dans les instructions de course.

11 - CLASSEMENTLe classement sera établi tel que prévu par l'annexe A4 des RCV de l'ISAF en utilisantle système de points a minima.

12 - APPEL - PENALITESApplication de la Règle 44.2 modifiée comme suit : la pénalité de rotation de 2 toursest remplacée par une rotation de 1 tour.

13 - PRIXLes prix seront accordés comme indiqué dans les instructions de course et sur le siteinternet « Les Voiles de Saint-Barth 2012».

14 - DROIT A L ’ IMAGEEn participant au « Voiles de Saint-Barth », le concurrent autorise l'AutoritéOrganisatrice et les sponsors de celui-ci à utiliser et montrer à tout moment (pendantet après la compétition) des photos en mouvement ou statiques, des films ou enregis-trements télévisuels, et autres reproductions de lui-même prises lors de l'épreuve et àutiliser gracieusement son image et son nom sur tous matériaux liés à ladite épreuve.

Le Comité d'organisation se réserve le droit d'amender le présent Avis de Course si desmodifications s'avéraient souhaitables pour la sécurité et/ou la sportivité de la course.Le texte faisant foi est le texte en français.

In any case, competitors agree thatthe Saint Barth Yacht Club, the sponsors and their agents,have no responsibility for lossof life or injury to members or others, or for the loss or damage to any vessel orproperty. As part of the registration process, each individual participating crew memberwill be required to sign a declaration accepting this disclaimer of liability.

8 - REGISTRATIONAt the moment of the registration the representative of each boat shall presentfollowing documents,- Valid FFV License with medical approval for French crew members- The proof for the foreign crews, that they are in compliance with their NationalAuthority

- Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurancewith a minimum cover of 1,6 millions d’euros per event or the equivalent.

- Disclaimer form- Phone number and email address- Complete crew list

9 - RADIO COMMUNICATIONAll competing boats shall carry a VHF radio capable of receiving communications fromthe Race Committee and port Authority on channels 72, 12 and 16.

10 - THE COURSESThe courses will be describe in sailing instructions.

11 - SCORINGThe Low Point System rule A4 from ISAF will apply.

12 - PENALTY SYSTEMS and PROTESTS44.2 is changed such that the penalty shall be one turn including one tack and one gybethat in all other respects comply with rule 44.2.

13 - PRIZES List of prizes and/or trophies to be awarded will be given in the Sailing Instructions andwill also be available on the web site “Les Voiles de Saint Barth 2012”.

14 - MEDIA RIGHTSCompetitors grant the Organizing Authority, the unrestricted right and permission to usethe name and the image for any text, photograph or video footage of either themselvesor the boat they are sailing during the event to be published or broadcast in any mediawhatsoever (including but not limited to Press and TV advertisements or Internet), foreither editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information; in thisrespect, competitors' names and any biographical material of themselves may also beused or reproduced in any way known. As part of the registration process, eachindividual participating crew member will be required to sign a declaration accepting thiswaiver of rights.

In the other classes : spinnaker, non-spinnaker, classic and racing-multihull prizes are donated by the Sibarth and Wimco agencies.These firms specialising in the rental of luxury villas will be offering holiday accommodation worth a total of more than 50,000 euros.

The second edition of LES VOILES DE SAINT-BARTH 2011 was able to attain their goal of offering sunshine,steady prevailing winds, a relaxing lay day, great ambiance on the dock and was delighted to host 53 boats.

The precedent now established, and with the continued generous and committed support of our sponsors, theCollectivity of St. Barthelemy, the Saint Barth Yacht Club, and all of our local volunteers, we hope to be a fixture on theCaribbean sailing calendar and an event not to be missed !!

LES VOILES DE SAINT-BARTH 2012 is looking towards the horizon and aims to expand and refine our organization onland and on the water, to accommodate the growing fleet of participants and visitors all while maintaining the simplicityand intimacy of the event.
