Nice is on the South Eastern coast of France, nestled between the dramatic Alpes Maritimes and the sweeping coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. Nice airport is the second busiest airport in France and sees more than 9 million tourists pass through its doors.

Fun facts about Nice

Nice, France´s second largest coastal city, after Marseille.

Population: Nice is the 5th most populated city in France. Right after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse.

City name: It´s called Nice la belle.

Interesting fact: The Niçois speak Niçard and French.

Niçard is French with a strong Italian flavour.

Gastronomy of Nice

• Socca

Known as Farinata in neighbouring Italy. A thin, unleavened pancake or crêpe.

• Ratatouille

It is a tradicional French Provençal stewed vegetable dish, originating in Nice.

Usually served as a single dish, but can be used as a filling for savoury crêpe or omelette.
