To say: The bear is bigger than the dog- you use plus… que. The adjective grand is masculine since bear is masculine. L’ours est plus grand que le chien.

These are adjectives we use to point out or "demonstrate" where items are located with respect to the speaker. They are called "demonstrative adjectives." Since they are adjectives, they each have four forms. Observe. They mean: this/that/ these/ those

● We attach "-ci" and "-là" to the end of the noun we are referring to to say "this" or "that".

● When you add ci, it makes the demonstrative mean this/these.● Ex: Je préfère ce cheval-ci. I prefer this horse here.● When you add là, it makes the demonstrative mean that/those.● EX: Je préfère ce cheval-là. I prefer that horse there.● Note that when the next, masculine word begins with a vowel

sound, we will use the "cet" special form.● J'aime cet animal-ci. (cet oiseau-ci) Je préfère cette araignée. (araignée
