We believe that God is Holy Trinity: Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. We believe that God is not only the
source of all life and the creator of all things, but that
God became a human being in Jesus, and is also
vulnerable and sacrificial and shares the experiences,
both good and bad, of our human life. God is also
Holy Spirit, the soft small voice inspiring each one of us
and the great mighty strength inside each one us which
enables us all to do great and good things.
The text for the 10:00 am Eucharist is found on the left-hand
column of each page; the text for the 12:45 Eucharist is on the
right-hand column. The music and hymns for each service may be
different but most of the liturgy is the same and may be found side
by side in both languages.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the
Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us,
and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of
his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into
his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his
name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his
truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100)

PROCLAIMING THE WORD
FIRST READING Genesis 1:1 - 5, 24 - 2:3 Read English by Cynthia Davidson
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the
earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness
covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God
swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let
there be light"; and there was light. And God saw that
the light was good; and God separated the light from
the darkness. God called the light Day, and the
darkness he called Night. And there was evening and
there was morning, the first day. And God said, "Let
the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind:
cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth
of every kind." And it was so. God made the wild
animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of
every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground
of every kind. And God saw that it was good. Then
God said, "Let us make humankind in our image,
according to our likeness; and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air,
l’homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance.

and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the
earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon
the earth." So God created humankind in his image, in
the image of God he created them; male and female he
created them. God blessed them, and God said to
them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and
subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the air and over every living thing
that moves upon the earth." God said, "See, I have
given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face
of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you
shall have them for food. And to every beast of the
earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything
that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath
of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it
was so. God saw everything that he had made, and
indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and
there was morning, the sixth day. Thus the heavens and
the earth were finished, and all their multitude. And on
the seventh day God finished the work that he had
done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the
work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day
and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the
work that he had done in creation.

all the world!
R: O Lord our governor, how exalted is your
name in all the world!
PSAUME 8:2 - 11
2 Your majesty above the heavens is praised,
Out of the mouths of babes at the breast
3 You have founded a stronghold against your foes
that you might still the enemy and the avenger.
R: O Lord our governor, how exalted is your
name in all the world.
2 O Seigneur, notre Dieu,
6
4 When I consider your heavens, the work of your
fingers, the moon and the stars you have
ordained.
5 What are mortals, that you should be mindful of
them? Mere human beings, that you should seek
them out?
R: O Lord our governor, how exalted is your
name in all the world.
6 You have made them little lower than the angels;
and crown them with glory and honour;
7 You have given them dominion over the works of
your hands; and put all things under their feet;
R: O Lord our governor, how exalted is your
name in all the world.
Le couronnant de gloire et d'honneur ;

SANCTUS & BENEDICTUS SANCTUS & BENEDICTUS
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Benedictus
qui venit in nomine Domini, Hosanna in excelsis.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and
earth are full of your glory, hosanna in the highest. Blessed
is he that comes in the name of the Lord, hosanna in the
highest.
Priest Therefore, Father, according to his command,
All we remember his death,
we proclaim his resurrection,
we await his coming in glory;
At the end of the Eucharistic Prayer, please say Amen

LORD’S PRAYER
Priest And now, as our Saviour Christ has taught us,
we are bold to say,
All Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, the power, and the
glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
Amen.

Everyone is welcome to receive Communion or a
blessing at our services, as appropriate. In the
Anglican tradition Communion is in both kinds.
PRAYER STATIONS
During Communion, there is an opportunity for prayer with
two members of the congregation. You may particularly want
to thank God today for something, or pray for something for
yourself or for someone else. Please go to the side chapel
after receiving Holy Communion and wait in line until the two
prayer ministers invite you to join them.
MOTET Hymn to the Trinity
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-93)
Blessed angel spirits offer praise undying, ever crying:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Sabaoth. Saints and
martyrs praise thy name, Trinity life-giving, earthborn
sorrow leaving before thy throne. Ever crying… Father
omnipotent, mighty in glory, Christ thy son our
saviour, who died that we might live, Holy Spirit,
mystic dove dwelling with us evermore; we praise thee,
blessed Trinity. With the angels’ sacred hymn all thy
might proclaiming, with the mystic cherubim in songs
of praise we join. Holy, holy, holy, join we all in songs
of praise for ever: Hallelujah, Lord God of Sabaoth.
(Cherubic Hymn, trans. W. G. Rotheby)
Please remain kneeling or seated to sing the hymn
HYMN 333 Grand Dieu, nous te bénissons

MOTET Exsultate justi
Ludovico Viadana (1560-1627)
Exsultate, justi, in Domino ; rectos decet collaudatio.
Confitemini Domino in cithara ; in psalterio decem
chordarum psallite illi. Cantate ei canticum novum ; bene
psallite ei in vociferatione.
(Psaume 33:1-3)
