The Impact of Korean Wave for TeenagersToday, Korean wave already spread around the world. It started in the last of 1990 when H.O.T, a South Korea boys group released their album in China. After that, Korean dramas were spread and became famous in Asia. Some examples of Korean dramas are Coffee Prince, Full House and Boys over Flowers. Not only for drama, Korean music that called K-pop also spread so fast. For example, TVXQ and Super Junior already known as the group that have a lot of fans around the world. Most of the Korean Pop fans are teenagers. Like for now the hallyu group who called EXO, had biggest influence in many other country like USA, Europe, Italy, Indonesia, Brasil, etc. Actually, Korean wave has both of advantages and disadvantages for teenagers.Korean wave has many advantages for teenagers. First, it makes the teenagers have much of knowledges. When they have interest in Korean drama or music, most of them also have interest in Korean culture. So, they will have interest to learn the language and the culture. It can make the knowledge of teenagers increase.Second, the teenagers can take the positive culture of Korean from the drama. Korean people are known as one of the most discipline people. The people in Korea have the high ethos of work. This culture often showed in Korean dramas. If the teenagers like Korean drama, they also will follow that positive culture.

Third, Korean wave can increase the teenagers’ creativities. Korean music usually has choreography in each song. The teenagers sometimes want to learn that moves and of course, that makes them become more creative. Or sometimes the teenagers can make fanart of their idol. However, Korean wave also gives some disadvantages. First, it makes the teenagers wasteful. They must be want to buy any stuff of their favorite idol or watching the concert of their idol badly. Sometimes they insist their parents to give some money to them, so they can go to a concert or buying some stuff that related to their idol.Second, the teenagers can forget about their country’s culture. Some of teenagers in Indonesia who like Korean sometimes prefer to watch Korean show than watching Indonesian show. Or sometimes they didn’t like Indonesian music at all. It can lose their proud of their country. In conclusion, I think Korean wave is a good thing because it has more advantages than the disadvantages. It can make the teenagers learn many things and become creative. As long as they can be a wise people and didn’t forget about their country’s culture, Korean wave is not a bad thing.
