Peint par: Lucas Cranach I think that this episode of the bible is well represented because it shows Adam and Eve, the snake (devil) and the apple tree. This painting also represents well the story because we see Adam and Eve eating the apple. The artist shows me a lot of the story even without all the details. I really like this piece of art because it is colorful and represents well the part when Adam and Eve eat the apple. I don’t really like this painting because I think that it is a little to dark. I prefer the other one because it is more colorful and has more details, for example it has animals and the tree with the apples is way more visible. Par Alice Martin

Cain Tue Abel

! We think this episode of the Bible was represented well because Cainʼs face is full of rage and Abelʼs is merciful and innocent. The Bible shows the difference between right and wrong. What Cain did was wrong. It makes us feel that people can kill others for the most unimportant things. We like this work of art because it shows extreme expressions in both faces and in the body language. We think Tintorettoʻs painting ( ) isnʼt quite as good as the other. In this one, you can not see their faces, therefore itdoesnʼt express as much emotion.

L'histoire représentée Mutatiomen consuetudiumMutatiomen consuetudium

Noah gets a message by god saying that he has to buld an ark that has 2 of each animal in the world one female and the other a male in preperation for a giant flood. The flood comes and he survives.

My Interpretation and Opinion Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden

This painting well represents the story in the Bible because you can see all the animals for Noah’s ark but it’s missing Noah’s ark.

A lot of animals are featured in both paint-ings

it is a sort of immitation of the Greek Myth: Zeus and Hermese go visiting.

We Prefere the 1st painting because it has good energy, its detailed, and colorful. The only minor problem is that there isn’t Noah’s ark.

I think Jan Brueghel’s “The Animals Boarding Noah’s Arc” resembles the painting: “Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden”, especially the horses and the lions in both of the paintings. If you look closley you will see that they are the bacically the same besides the shading.

David & Goliath

David Slaying Goliath Par: Peter Paul Rubens

David a combattu contre Goliath.

Discussing David & Goliath

Opinion & interpretation

This episode in the Bible is presented well because it shows that David is up against a giant and manages to kill him regardless of his size. The emphasized part of the Bible in this picture is David about to kill Goliath with a sword. The painting makes you feel like there will be happiness and peace because after David kills Goliath the sun is comes out and the clouds part. I like this painting because it depicts the action of the story well and the sun is coming out right when he’s about to cut his head off. It makes you feel like there’s a good solid story behind this painting.

Comparing the Paintings

This painting compared to the one on the left is more of a cartoon version. This one shows David & Goliath fighting in front of the two armies with everyone watching while the other painting has the armies in the background fighting each other. This painting shows David hitting Goliath in the head with a rock. The other shows David about to cut off Goliath’s head. The cartoon version shows David as more of an indian like character while the other shows David as a white man with noble blood. In both paintings the sun is shining when David hits Goliath showing David’s victory. Both Jedrek and I prefer Peter Paul Rubens’ painting.
