The island of Dominica, well known by nature lovers for its authen-
ticity, preserved treasures, forests, waterfalls, volcanoes and natio-
nal parks, offers a sustainable and responsible tourism experience
and has successfully avoided the large hotel complexes. In 2011, in
this spirit of nature conservation and purity, Secret Bay was born.
Its owners followed the recommendations of the Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) to the letter, to ensure
that the hotel’s construction complied with the rigorous standards
protecting the corals, the sea, and the fauna and flora that call this
exceptional environment home.
The residences, designed by Venezuelan architect Fruto Vivas, are
made of exotic wood from a sustainable timber harvest in Guyana.
The skilfully raised villas are naturally ventilated (though all rooms
are equipped with air conditioning) and give guests the thrilling
sensation of being perched high up above the world. Not to mention,
their unparalleled views of the sea and of the lush exotic nature.
The six villas and bungalows are bathed in natural light, thanks to
their immense bay windows with removable screens. All six feature
an Italian-style bathroom, a kitchen, the latest appliances, Bose
Bluetooth speakers, high-speed Wi-Fi and a private pool or hot tub.
While they may be located in the heart of nature, they offer all the
comforts you could dream of.
