Description La section Systèmes d’armes (SA) utilise la librairie Weapons Systems Library (WSL) pour ses efforts de modélisation et simulation de systèmes d’armes. Cette librairie utilise l’environnement Matlab/Simulink qui est bien connu et apprécié par les membres de la section. La section désire donc continuer le travail avec cette librairie. Dun autre côté, les sections Guerre électro-optique (GEO) et Défense expérimentation Valcartier (DeV) utilisent Virtual Proving Ground (VPG) pour leurs efforts de modélisation et simulation. VPG regroupe, entre autres, des modèles Simulink et C++, un environnement de simulation nommé Karma et développé en C++ ainsi que plusieurs outils. En termes d’architecture logicielle et de services offerts, Karma est plus flexible et plus avancé que Weapons Systems Library. En effet, Karma contient, entre autres, une génération de scène infrarouge et un modèle environnemental avancé. Pour certains de ses travaux, la section SA aimerait bénéficier des modèles et services disponibles dans VPG, par exemple pour étudier l’impact d’un environnement dégradé sur la performance d’un système d’arme. De plus, l’intégration des modèles de Weapons Systems Library dans VPG permettrait de promouvoir l’échange de modèles et le travail collaboratif entre la section SA et les sections GEO et DeV. Il a donc été décidé, pour certains projets, d’utiliser VPG, ce qui implique, entre autres, d’intégrer certains modèles de WSL dans VPG, d’adapter l’environnement de simulation Karma pour les besoins spécifiques de ces modèles, d’effectuer des simulations dans VPG et d’effectuer de la vérification et validation (V&V) de modèles.
