ilroyal, Maxroyal and Prime-royal dosing pumps are desi-gned to be used in a widevariety of processes and underextreme conditions. All our dosing pumps are oil-bath lubricated in a sealedcrankcase and have a speedreducer within the mechanicalsystem.
Dosapro Milton Roy pumpsare versatile. They can be builtto meet the specific require-
ments of any industrial processby combining a motor andmechanical assembly from therange with any liquid endtechnology, connections andcontrols.Flow rates can be adjustedautomatically or manually whilethe pumps are running orstopped.
There are five dosing pumpmodels to choose from depen-ding on your flow rate and
pressure criteria: Milroyal®
D, B, C, Maxroyal® andPrimeroyal®.
We manufacture all of ourpumps in conformity withAPI 675 standard using 14CNC milling machines. Eachis tested in accordance withour ISO 9001 certified qualityprocedures.

In the early days packed plungerpumps were used to takesamples from extraction columnsunder vacuum. However, thehazardous nature of the productsbeing pumped prompted the health and safety committeeto propose using sealed diaphragm pumps instead.Dosapro Milton Roy, experts inhydraulically and mechanicallydriven diaphragm pumps, developed such a pump capableof providing suction at 7 torr (-0.91 bar). Some applicationshowever only require a lowvacuum for suction, such asdosing of degassed fruit juice or high density liquids with suction lift.

osapro Milton Roy has many years ofexperience in designing different types ofdosing pump for use in a broad range ofapplications involving radioactive materials,slurry-laden products, liquefied gases andthe like.
When it comes to choosing a design, conventional plunger pumps are known fortheir robustness and simplicity, while themore modern diaphragm pumps deliverleak free operation.
Valves come in a wide number of configu-rations — single ball, double ball, springloaded ball, spring loaded poppet valve, etc. All handle viscosities of up to 20,000cp and they can be constructed in a broadrange of materials to allow particles up to200 µm as standard. Each valve is built spe-cially to handle the abrasiveness of a num-ber of slurries.
Proven innovations Dosing pumps
Over 130 patents have been registered since 1980 and over 30 are still in effect for dosing pump
• Simple, rugged, built to withstand high pressures and temperatures
• Single packing standard, optional double packing with barrier/flushing rings
• Simple to operate dosing pump can beconstructed in a wide variety of materials, sizes and for many performance levels

Manufacturing processes inchemical and petrochemicalapplications often involvefluids at high temperatures. For obvious safety andenvironmental concerns, ma-nufacturers and engineersare turning to diaphragmand even double-diaphragmpumps. The suction and dis-charge valves are remotely
mounted on these pumpsso that they can be cooledusing a cooling jacket. Theliquid end can thus handlefluids exceeding 300°Cwithout endangering itsoperating life. In other confi-gurations the entire pumphead is separated from theliquid end instead.

ot only does Dosapro MiltonRoy design and manufacture itsstandard pump ranges, it alsomanufactures many speciallydesigned pumps.
Its team of application engineersanalyse specifications while"package unit" designers focuson dosing pump systems, manyof which are supplied to engi-neering contractors.
The following pages illustrateseveral examples of "exceptio-nal" situations.
In Siberia, dosing pumpsused in gas treatment areusually installed indoors awayfrom sub-zero temperatures.Dosapro Milton Roy manufac-tures odorant pumps whichcan be installed outdoors.Constructed in resilient ma-terials such as stainless steeland killed steel castings, each pump also houses asystem that warms up thelubricating oil prior to start-up.Specially made DosaproMilton Roy pumps can ope-rate at temperatures as lowas -50°C.
Dosing radioactive or poten-tially radioactive fluids innuclear power plants or ura-nium enrichment plants in-volves painstaking adherenceto specifications. Plastics areprohibited, pumps and mate-rials must be designed towithstand all forms of corro-sion and abrasives and noleak is tolerated. Here, theentire double-diaphragmpump head, placed in thecontainment area, is construc-ted in Hastelloy® and can

As a ‘cake’ forms in a filterpress, there is an accompanyingrise in pumping pressure. At a certain predetermined pressure no more pumping is required. This pump achievesthis automatically with no specialprotection.Once the desired pressure isreached the swept volume ofthe pump is diverted into anaccumulator mounted on a liquid filled chamber betweentwo diaphragms and pumpingceases. It is a far simpler solutionthan the traditional one whichwould involve pressure sensorsand controllers to shut down the pump.

performance. At higher flows thelife of metallic diaphragms is lesspredictable and their size makesmaintenance difficult. Generallypumps using PTFE diaphragmsare also not suitable as PTFE isporous to halogens like Hydrogen,Chlorine, Bromine, and Helium.Dosapro Milton Roy has developedand patented a simple system todeal with this problem. All gasmigrating through the diaphragmis collected and diverted to a safeplace. Diaphragm rupture can stillbe detected by the normal pressuresensing system. Some odorantsused in gas treatment or highconcentrations of sodium hypo-chlorite, a chemical used in watertreatment, also have the samecharacteristics which can equallybe solved by this new system.
Pumping liquids containing highlevels of halogens requires the useof double diaphragm pumps. Metaldiaphragms are better suited tolower flow rates and provide lasting
