Use of Titles• The names fly on to the screen

with dramatic music in the backgroundthis used to create mystery.

• The way the screen is blurred in the background during a freeze frame might be used to represent the past being blurred.

• The letters leave the screen in a random order this may represent how the brain stores in formation.

Mise En Scene• Bright sunny day everyone is

getting ready for a celebration this isused to make the explosion more dramatic for the audience.

• The American flag in the shot could be used both to establish the location and make it more frightening for the American audience.

• Young US Navy recruits celebration aftercompleting training on boat makes it more shocking for the audience when the bomb goes off.

• When the main character arrives on the scene it starts raining heavily this could help set a depressing scene

Sound• The opening titles have very slow mysterious music

with diegetic sound over the top such as people cheering. This is done to show tat although the people are happy something bad is about to happen

• More diegetic sound is used in the for of a brass band. They are playing cheerful music to mark the occasion this is used to representthe happy mood.

• The music on a vans radio can be heard – next when the boat worker goes to – investigate the noise. It is then interrupted– by the sound of the explosion.
