Warm rotaract greetings!!!! I am very much happy to interact with my Rotary family. Rotary has given us this wonderful Rotaract platform. Rotaract is nothing but the bonding between the youth of every country. The main aim of which is to bond the youth to community and develop their personality. It gives us a platform to develop our self by many ways. No organization in this world helps to improve your personality and ideas other than rotaract. It teaches us to work in a group as a leader or as a member. There are many avenues in the rotaract to work with like Community service, International service, Professional service, Club service and many more. These avenues are very helpful for members in their future. This organization gives us to think in many directions, to create ideas and to execute those ideas. It is said that “U just put your finger on any city in the map I have my rotaract friends in that city”. That is the Power of Rotaract. I am enjoying a lot to work with this organisation. By our projects and interactions with other clubs we are spreading the rotaractivity with the people. And hope that every rotaractor will spread the same in the world. At last I am thankful to all for giving me opportunity to interact with you all, and also thankful to the people who introduced me in the world of Rotaract……

I want to extend my sincere congratulations to the Rotary Club of Aurangabad West and its outstanding effort in producing a unique International News Bulletin. I have enjoyed reading it. I am very much aware of your club’s involvement in Aurangabad community. I was very happy to learn about the projects the club has undertaken over years. Keep up the good work! Leaving India 35 years ago and spending 20 active years in Rotary in USA, I have understood and admired the strength of our wonderful service organization Rotary International from both sides of the isle. Communities all over the world have their own needs, and respective Rotary clubs are trying to help. But none of us can do it alone. Rotary International has recognized the fact and wants us to join hands with other service organizations, other Rotary Districts and Clubs in neighboring communities or Internationally. President Ray has put it rightly in his theme “Building Communities, Bridging Continents”. And this is possible only when we work together and we are aware of each others needs. The International News Bulletin will help make the partnerships stronger. President Ray has not only given this vision to us in words but in deeds as well by making “Youth” as a Fifth Avenue of Service. Youth all over the world is idealistic, enthusiastic, ambitious and hard working and always wants to do the right thing. Youth is our future, Rotary’s future. They are Hope of our world. Therefore one more time I want to congratulate the Rotarians of R. C. of Aurangabad west for making Rotaractors and Interactors their true partners in service. All The Best Always, Meena Patel Centennial Governor, DRFC R.I. District 6650

Message by—PDG Meena Patel

Message by DG Shirish Rayate Wishing you all a Very Happy new year 2010-11 The new young enthusiastic Rotary club Aurangabad West came with a wonderful idea of joint bul-letin of clubs from different countries. I was amazed to know 19 different clubs shared their club activities in it. It is indeed a great effort to gather all these clubs together. This will definitely share the projects, views around the globe. I congratulate Rtn. Sanjay Kulkarni, bulletin editor for his efforts and wonderful idea. The month January is the Rotary Information month. So spread Rotary to the grass root level in the community. In-crease the strength of members by extending Rotary information among them. This joint bulletin will definitely help in this. Rotary is a spirit of Service and we need to share our core values of service with other people and organization.

I take this opportunity to invite you all for our Dist. Conference “Manthan” on 4th, 5th & 6th Feb 2011, which will be held in Aurangabad. The host clubs are taking tremendous efforts to make this event confirmable and memorable one.

Our main project this year is the result of a Matching Grant which was finally accepted by The Rotary Foundation after 2 years. Four Clubs joined efforts for it: the R.C. of San Vicente, in Santa Fe, Argentina, the R.C. of Clarksville in the U.S.A. the R.C. of Munchen in Germany and my Club. As soon as we receive the money from TRF we shall buy two microscopes for the leading Institute on Oncology in Argentina, which treats people from this country and from neighboring ones, and it also prepares professionals in the specialty. It is a great community that is served by it.

Rotarians are people who balance their family and work with community activities and enjoy making contributions to their local communities, to youth and to international projects. The Rotary Club of Loganholme has a long-standing relationship with the Logan PCYC. This year, several of our club members arrived early on a Saturday morning to erect temporary fencing around the Wood-ridge PCYC complex in preparation for their annual Car Show. We also turned out in force to assist at their open day at the new Tudor Park facility, a great new complex in which we hope to eventually hold our Monday night meetings. We ran the BBQ at this event and all involved had a great time. We also regularly attend PCYC fund-raising events during the year, and we occasionally hold a dinner meeting at their new Tudor Park venue. We successfully applied for a grant recently so that they could purchase a new dishwasher, for which they were very appreciative. We have committed to ongoing sup-port for our local PCYC group.

The project covers about 25 high schools in and around the city of Lier (province of Antwerp). According to our school system, all the "seniors" have to elaborate a final theoretical or practical theme (depending upon their study program). Each school selects the best of its students creations and submits it to us. A jury then selects 11 laureates and they will present their work during an academic session. After the presentations 11 awards and money prizes are given to the students. The amount of the prizes range from 125 to 400 Euro each. A special award and prize is reserved for a school with ADHD students. The project was originally a personal initiative of myself but has been transferred to the club since its chartering this year. The present academic year will be the fifth edition of the project. With this project we reach every year more than 25 thousand students.

As in every year, members of RC of Beit Dagan, District 2490, Israel, took part in opening the New Year at their town schools. This year the members stood at schools gates and gave a small present to every pupil – a copybook that on the first page glued a sticker with blessings from the Rotary Club to success in the new year. The Club also purchase dozens of gift cards from "Office Depot" to purchase learning stuff. (The gift cards had been given to the district with great discount as a District project). We gave the gift cards to the department of welfare in our community that gave them to needy pupils. The club purchased also few bags filled with learning materials and help some family to purchase school books to their children.

In our long lasting effort to strengthen road safety, we put a sign on the wall beside the gate that said "Rotary fight for Road Safety". We also gave the kindergartens in the town a kit that helps them to learn road safety. Our member that serve as volunteer in the civil guard stood beside the pupils that open and close the pedestrian crossing as he does once in a week. - During the activity the school master thanked us and blessed the Rotary club for their activity, and one mother said that there are not many people like Rotarians. The action raised Rotary image in the community, and all the members that took part returned to their homes with great satisfaction.

District Governor: Rtn. Andriamone Ranarivelo President: Rtn. France Augustin Secretary: Rtn. Michael Tony Constance

Club Web site: www.rotaryrosebelle.org

The Rotary Club of Rose Belle held its first meeting on 4 April 2007 during the governorship of DG Randhir Ramloll. The club’s Charter President Silvio Empeigne received the Club’s Charter on 7 December 2007 from DG Christian Fuard during a banquet. The banner of the club which depicts two of the main economic activities of the region, namely tea and sugar industries, was created by Nicolas Empeigne, a student in Graphic Design and Multimedia. Since its creation, the Rotary Club of Rose Belle has been very active in the southern region of Mau-ritius. During its three years of existence, the club has been providing laboratory equipment for the creation of a science lab in a primary school, a daily meal to the poorest children of another primary school as well as uniforms, school materials, etc. to children of the same school. Furthermore the club donated books for the creation of lending libraries in schools and local clubs. The Rotary Club of Rose Belle has taken the pledge to combat the thalassemia disease in Mauritius and for so doing, the club has associated itself with the Mauritius Thalassemia Society. In this connection, the club organized a one-day blood collection activity in August last. The Rotary Club of Rose Belle recently provided electricity and drinking water to three families resid-ing at Camp Ramdin, Cluny, within the context of its poverty alleviation program styled Water for Life and Electricity for Life. Those three families could not be connected to the national water and elec-tricity distribution networks due to financial constraints: they could not afford to pay for the infrastruc-tural costs, their houses being located far from the national water and electricity networks. This Ro-tary Club, the youngest in Mauritius, donated water tanks, water filters and water purifiers as well as solar panels to the abovementioned families. District Governor Andriamone RANARIVELO visited the project on September 1 and congratulated the club for this particular project.

Every time we start a project, large or small, these relations have become the adhe-sive that connects us in the creative impulse. The result is the satisfaction of the peo-ple who we help them, a smile on their faces and warmth in our hearts. Members of the Rotary Club Ljubljana Barje we find that: - it is right that we are part of the Rotary family, - is not only fair, we are proud to be able to help - continuously strengthen friendship and selfless action. - We benefit ourselves, because we cannot increase more if we not help others and because we help them on their way through life. We are proud that we have a solid link in the chain of Rotary fellowship and charity. We are a single heart, beating a beat. We can, when is necessary!

The Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch, Cape Town (D9350) has received a container of medical equipment and supplies from MSNI, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA each year for the past 4 years. The equipment is distributed to local hospitals and clinics which are in need of additional equipment. The Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch recently heard about the maternity clinic in Retreat, Cape Town. This clinic serves a sub-economic community and has only the basic supplies. Medical Supplies Network, Inc (MSNI) was founded in 1993 by Jack Maxwell within the World Community Services Committee of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, D6110. This project has now become a project of D6110 where medical equipment no longer required in USA hospitals is packed and shipped to areas requiring more updated equipment.

Ambuya Nehanda Children’s Home Formed in 1987, the home is located at a farm in Melfort about 40km east of Harare CBD off the Mutare Highway. The place is a home to about a 100 children of between 1 to 18 years made up of 31 girls and 61 boys. The home aims to keep the children until they are reunited with their families where possible. Most children are brought there by the Government’s Social Welfare Department. Situated in a farm donated by the late First Lady Sally Mugabe, the home has a potential for self reliance if it successfully implements various projects at the farm in its lining. However due to lack of adequate funding from inception, the home has not been able to implement its intended programmes and has hence largely depended on donations from charities and well wishers. Past assistance from donors did not have long term sustainability plans as they were on recurrent expenditure without focus on projects to sustain the home. There is therefore an urgent need for funding to make the home self sufficient for the upkeep of the children. The project potential is in the running of a grinding mill, bakery shop, garden, dairy, poultry, piggery and other farming activities. The home already has its priorities on the projects. There is a further need for upgrading water supplies, sanitation, electricity supplies, health, education, clothing and food supplies. Care givers are not adequately trained and their caretaker/children ratio is relatively high with only two caretakers for 92 children. The rest of staff at the home are not adequately qualified and trained for their duties. The children go to local schools with fees paid by donors. Harare CBD visited the home and donated food and blankets. However the club felt challenged to do more for a home with a noble cause, by sourcing funding for proposed projects at the home which will give an impetus to long term self reliance and sustainability of the institution.

"Rotary clubs had become service clubs, not in name only but in fact also. They turned their hands to any and all community undertakings in need of their services with such alacrity that their more philosophical brothers rose up in alarm lest their own pet theories be swept from the boards entirely." (Paul, Harris This Rotarian Age, page 111)
