Notre histoire | Our history

C’est en 1983 que John Harney fonde sa maison de thé. Il est bientôt rejoint par 2

de ses fils, faisant ainsi de la petite entreprise une histoire de famille : Harney &

Sons.

Nous sommes fournisseurs de thés haut de gamme et mettons nos années d’expé-

rience à profit afin de dénicher les meilleurs thés aux quatre coins du monde et

de créer des mélanges hors du commun. Pour chacun de nos thés, notre souhait le

plus cher est de procurer du plaisir à tous, que ce soit en surpassant les attentes des

amateurs grâce à nos créations aromatisées ou en convaincant le plus exigeant des

connaisseurs par la finesse des crus que nous avons rigoureusement sélectionnés.

Nous nous démarquons également par la diversité de nos conditionnements, adap-

tés à chaque situation.

Aujourd’hui, c’est la troisième génération Harney qui s’apprête à tenir l’engagement

qui est le nôtre depuis plus de 25 ans : garantir une qualité de thé irréprochable, à

chaque tasse.

world to find the best teas and to select only the exceptional. We put our years of

experience to create blends beyond compare. Never straying from our heritage and

classic feel, we strive to stay ahead through new lines and innovative packaging. Har-

ney & Sons company remained a family business as both John Harney’s sons joined

the company in the 90’s. Our objective is to guarantee you an impeccable tea quality

in every tea cup.

Top London Afternoon Tea

En 2007 puis en 2011, nos thés ont été gratifiés d’un ‘Top London Afternoon Tea’

par l’intermédiaire des salons de thé de deux hôtels londoniens renommés, fournis

par nos soins.

Cette distinction, accordée par la Chambre du Thé au Royaume-Uni, récompense

les établissements pour la diversité et pour la qualité des thés qui y sont proposés

mais aussi pour le soin apporté à leur service. Elle est ainsi considérée mondiale-

ment comme l’oscar du meilleur thé.

Harney & Sons Fine Teas is the house tea of London’s elite Dorchester Hotel that has

received the Top London Afternoon Tea Award 2007. The company is also the tea

supplier of the luxurious Claridge Hotel in London that have won the “Top London

Afternoon Tea 2011 Award”. The Top London Afternoon Tea Award is the « Oscar »

of the tea world awarded by the United Kingdom Tea Council. This award is based on

quality and diversity of tea offered as well as packaging.

le biais de l’association « 1% for the planet ». Le but de cette association est de

protéger notre planète et cette action est rendue possible grâce à la participation

financière de sociétés engagées et responsables, qui n’hésitent pas à verser au mi-

nimum 1% de leurs revenus annuels nets aux organisations environnementales de

leur choix.

their resources to create a healthier planet. Members donate at least 1% of their an-

nual net revenues to environmental organizations of our choice.

Historic Royal Palaces est une association totalement indépendante qui veille sur

cinq palais britanniques en les entretenant et faisant la promotion de ce patrimoine

architectural et de l’histoire qui y est attachée.

A la demande de cette association, nous avons créé une ligne exclusive comprenant,

à l’origine, quatre thés de qualité supérieure et une infusion, présentés en boîtes

métalliques octogonales dont les couleurs s’inspirent des Joyaux de la Couronne

britannique. Une façon pour nous de rendre hommage à l’histoire impériale du thé

et à ses racines.

Peu à peu, cette ligne s’est enrichie par l’introduction de mélanges propres à notre

maison.

Historical Royal Palaces of England. Each blend is a tribute to the imperial history of

Thé glacé | Iced Tea

Préparation : laisser infuser une dose de thé dans 1/2 litre d’eau bouillante dans un

récipient d’une capacité de 2 litres. Après 15 minutes, retirer le sachet, le presser,

sucrer ou pas, et compléter avec 1,5 litre d’eau glacée. À servir avec des glaçons.

Preparation : infuse a pouch of tea in 1/2 liter of boiling water in a 2 liters container.

After 15 minutes, remove the bag, squeeze it, put sugar or not, and complete with 1,5

liter of iced water. Serve with iced cubes.
