Agreement of Nouns and Adjectives

French is a Romance language, which is a language derived from Latin. Other Romance languages are Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Romanian. In Romance languages there is agreement between nouns and adjectives.

English , although it has adopted many words from Latin, is not a Romance language. It is a Teutonic language, like German and Dutch.

What is agreement?

In French, one type of agreement is masculine and feminine.

Feminine nouns must have feminine forms of adjectives.

Masculine nouns must have masculine adjectives.

Masculine and Feminine Adjectives

Look at the spelling of the adjectives with masculine nouns and with feminine nouns. How are they
