Municipality No. 2.The indersigned, proprieters and residents of the

vicinity of St. Mary's Market, respectfully reproesent; that they have perceived with pleasure thatyour honorable body have purchased the triangularlot at the junction of Annunciation and Tahoupi.toulas streets for the purpose of erecting thereon avegetable market, which the rapidly increasingwants of the population will soon require; andbelieving that no time should be lost in erecting saidnmarket, and that it will immediately when finished,produce a revenue much more than sufficient todefray the interest on the outlay:-they respectfullyrequest the council to cause tile same to be cotm.menced forthwith, so that it may be finished by thefirst of January next.

The undersigned having understood that doubtsexisted whether the revenue from the proposedmatrkt would be sufficient to sanction its immediateconstrtuotion, hereby bitd and obligate themselvesto the cou.cill that said market will rent for at leasttihe sum of fire thtousand dollars per annum, if con.structed on a plan similar to the Poydras marketand provided the same be finished by the first ofJanuary next.

The council will perceive that this sum afterpaying the interest on the bonds given for theland, will leave $•,600, or about 18 per cent onthe estimated cost of the market house per annum,or nine per cent on the whole cost of land andbuilding.

Relying on the enlightened seal which guidesyour honorable body in all matters connected withtihe public good,--the undersigned indulge the hopethat their. proposition ;vill be acceded to, and willever pray, &c. &.c.
