ry, Christian Pellerin, Christine DeWolf and Marta Cerruti) a évalué 12 de-
mandes. Seules six ont été sélectionnées.
Initiated in 2005, the program supports 5 to 8 undergraduate sum-
mer students (~ $4K per student) who will work on joint research projects
between CSACS members. The goals of the program are to expose under-
graduate students to CSACS research as well as to promote contacts be-
tween research groups. This year the CSACS Scholarship selection commit-
tee (Yves Dory, Christian Pellerin, Christine DeWolf and Marta Cerruti) has
evaluated 12 applications. Only six were selected.

We have the pleasure to inform you that two other scholarships for
the international internship were awarded; one to Mohamed Amine Mezour
from Prof. Perepichka lab (McGill) and a second one to Andréanne Bolduc
from Prof. Skene lab (U. of Montreal). Two more scholarships are available
for CSACS students. Those interested are invited to consult the rules. Also
visit our website for the documents required to submit an application
within CSACS. The next CSACS application deadline will be on September
30th, 2012.
Mohamed Mezour will spend two months at the KU Leuven in
Belgium. In the group of Prof. De Feyter, who is the world leader in studies
of molecular networks by STM and EC-STM, Mohamed will try to gain con-
trol over the molecular organization by tuning the surface potential.
Andréanne’s practical training will be performed in the laborato-
ry of Professor Klaus Meerholz at the University of Cologne in Germa-
ny. The purpose of this course is to introduce different polymers synthesi-
zed in Montreal in plastic devices. The group of Prof. Meerholz is speciali-
zed in organic nanoelectronic and has advanced equipment for manufactu-
ring electronic devices.
Prof. William Jones
Le Dr Jones est
diplômé de l'University
College of Wales, Aber-
ystwyth, où il a obtenu
son doctorat en
1974. Les champs
d’intérêt actuels du
professeur Jones por-
tent sur la conception
de matériaux fonction-
nels moléculaires, qui
a fait énormément de
progrès par la
cocristallisation.
Dr. Jones graduated

College of Wales, Aber-
ystwyth where he ob-
tained his PhD in 1974.
Current interests of
Prof. Jones are in the
design of functional
molecular materials,
which has advanced
tremendously through
cocrystallization.

environnement universitaire.
Professor William Jones, from chemistry department, University of
Cambridge, UK will be a Visiting Professor in Prof. Friscic Laboratory in the
Department of Chemistry at McGill University for a period of one month

His visit will be dedicated to exploring joint interests between groups
of Prof. Friščić, Prof. Cosa, Prof. Perepichka, Prof. Barrett and Prof. Cuccia
in: (i) using the principles of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineer-
ing to design advanced pharmaceutical materials; (ii) developing spectro-
scopic characterization methods to study molecular assembly and dynamics
in solids and (iii) studying surface assembly of molecules. The visit will also
be an opportunity for Prof. Jones to provide CSACS lectures on the role of
supramolecular principles in the design of pharmaceutical forms and/or ex-
periences in running an industrially-sponsored institute in an academic en-

sitaire terminal.
It is our pleasure to inform you that Prof. Gonzalo Cosa has been se-
lected by the ASP (American Society of Photobiology) Awards Committee as
the winner of the New Investigator Award. The ASP New Investigator Award
recognizes ‘promising quality research in the fields of photomedicine, photo-
biology, photochemistry, and/or photophysics’ performed at a relatively
early stage in an investigator's career, typically within the first ten years of
obtaining the terminal academic degree.
